My friend Alex and I just returned from our annual October trip to Hersheypark In The Dark. We met up with Chris (Ccron10 from here at TPR) as well as his friend Mary. The weather was perfect and we all had a wonderful time.

All coasters were operating, except Wild Mouse, which broke down later on. Wildcat and Lightning Racer were both running one train (LR had one per track), sooperdooperLooper / one train, Great Bear and Comet / two trains, Storm Runner had both sides of the station open, and Fahrenheit / two trains. Mostly everything was a walk-on except Fahrenheit, which was a 15 min wait when we rode it, and Wildcat, which had a minor wait due to only one train operating.

We're back (Alex and I) for HP in the Dark again.

The weather was just absolutely gorgeous to take a picture of anything in and around the park. I could just not resist these shots with the perfect blue skies.

After rides on Reese's Extreme Cup Challenge, our trip heated up with the first coaster of the day, Fahrenheit. Chris, Mary and I rode it (Chris and Mary in the front and me in the second row), and the experience was the same for me as was when I rode it back in June. The second time, Chris and I rode it in the front seat and I must say that the front row is way more thrilling than the other rows. I enjoyed every moment of it.

Goi'n up....

And up....

The overbank under the main drop, taken from the queue.

I thought this shot was interesting.

Fahrenheit amidst all the beautiful fall colors.

Now onto Wildcat.

A beautiful silouette of the main lift and drop through the sunset.

I still believe the overall ride experience is better with the Millennium Flyers.

Waiting to ride Wildcat!

While we were there, we checked up on the construction progress of the Boardwalk: the Sea-qual:

Farewell Canyon River Rapids. You will be missed!

A huge dirt mound with lots of open space.

More dirt and construction going on.

Something else that I noticed was that the sign for "The Shore" wavepool was up. Treatville was also moved into Tidal Force/Canyon River Catering because of the construction of the Sea-qual.

Just hanging out and having fun!

We did do a lot of rides in the dark including Comet, Great Bear, sooperdooperLooper, Flying Falcon, etc. Overall, it was a great day.

I leave you with this shot as we say farewell to Hersheypark in the Dark 2008! Alex and I will back for Christmas Candylane, and another trip report to follow after that. Enjoy the pictures.

Notes from the day:

-Comet, Fahrenheit and Great Bear were running two trains, the rest were running one train.

-Wild Mouse broke down later in the day and remained closed while we were by it.

-The entrance sign to "The Shore" has been added to the Boardwalk entrance.

-All signs of CRR are gone. They have begun construction on the large structure that will be at the end of the wavepool by Roller Soaker.

-Treatville was moved to Tidal Force/CRR catering because of the construction of the Sea-qual.

Your boyfriend was there this past Sunday? That's when Chris, Mary, Alex and I were there. Chris, Mary and I did ride Storm Runner once but we had alot more other rides to do and limited it to only one round.

I think the whole coaster is massive when you look at it. I think that has to do in part with the walkway almost being located right alongside the coaster, so you see this massive structure hovering right over you. It is amazing.
