Angry_Gumball Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Sorry, no photos, as after I started filming my cousin getting freaked/chased in the scare zones, security confronted me and told me I couldn't have any cameras out in the park...oh well. So, we finish a normal day visit (which was almost very empty, minimal waits) ending at the early time of 5:30..Instead of leaving the park, we hit up the Buffet dinner prior to the Haunt. That gave us an hour or so to chill and relax (and able to get unique shots of Flight Deck from the pavillion). Unfortunately, we didn't quite get in that early, maybe 5 minutes before the rest of the non buffet guests got in. In that sense, we were the absolute first people to get in CarnEvil. Prior to opening, to get us pumped up, a clown and some dog creature thing were let into the pavillion to chase people around. This was hilarious as some little kids were getting pwned by them. When one of the clowns came up behind us doing his sliding maneuver, he kinda lost it and almost ate it. (ouch!) Great way to get us warmed up! Carnevil had the same layout as last season (though it seemed much longer) and was definitely fun with no people ahead of us...let us find out by surprise. My cousin (who never went in Carnevil before) was easily freaked out by the clowns. Exiting out of Carnevil, we walk through the surrounding scare zone full of sliders, crawlers, and this maniac clown with a green fro and polka dots...he cracks me up when he starts jumping around, laughing, and clapping. My brother set it up with one of the clowns to chase my cousin, which was one of the few things I did get on tape. From there, we headed towards... Club Blood. This maze was shorter than the rest, but was quite enjoyable. There was no line, we walked right in. I didn't even realize at first that we were actually inside of the Imax theater until we exited the building. Great maze, I'd say that it's more mild, had a few spots that slightly caught me off guard. (It's tough to actually really scare me btw) Next was the Slaughter House. Again, we walked right in. Turns out that one of our friends works there...he's the crazy auctioneer guy that you see. This one was also more on the mild side, but had great attention to detail. The ending was great, really enjoyable/cute. Headed toward the rear of the park, I begin filming my cousin getting followed/stalked by the monsters when a security comes up to me and tells me that I can't have any cameras out at all in the park. I was kinda shocked and disappointed, but followed through. Next scare zone, 'Underworld,' (By Invertigo and Demon) was really enjoyable. Unfortunately, I think that part of our group may have outdone their passes through it as the monsters seemed irritable and told them to move on. (Did not help at all when my bro and his friend constantly tried to scare the monsters. Actually annoyed me kinda...) So now to Cornstalkers. My second visit was actually much more enjoyable. On our first run, my bro and his friend kept attempting to scare the monsters, and his friend kept saying "Oh, he's gonna pop out of there" and stuff like that. I was really disappointed when we got through without a single jump. Annoyed, I told my bro's friend to please not pull that as it really spoils it. So now to get some unacceptable amout of wetness... Or I should say 'dryness.' Camp Gonnagetcha was....broken down the whole time we were there, so no ride on that. Later on that night, they set up a makeshift scare zone with the CG crew claiming that they had to evacuate the ride and stuff like that. Next, Werewolf Canyon! I was shocked with this maze. I didn't realize it's length. I originally thought it was just what was on the turntable. Actually, we entered on the opposite side of Orbit, crossed a bridge over the dry rapids and into the turntable. The rest consisted of a dim-lit exit path full of stuff. Just when we thought it was over (noted by exit signs) there were more stuff to see. Ending WC, we check CG again, not knowing it was down for the evening. Tired out, we decide to hit up some rides. We first rode Drop Tower, followed by a walk-on of Survivor, ending with another walk-on with Invertigo. From there, our group split up...so it was just my cousin and I. We headed back to Carnevil again to pay the clowns a visit. More freaky with the 2 of us, easier to get scared/jump. As Flight Deck was right there, we took a nice night time front row walk-on ride on it. (Today was the first time I had ever ridden FD in the front row...absolutely amazing, especially at night!). We were going to head toward Werewolf Canyon, but it had a short line. Our time was limited and were on our last hour (Being picked up around 10:00...) so we decide to redo Cornstalkers. This was far better this round even though I knew where some of the stuff was at, it still caught me off guard. We pretty much redid the rest of the mazes which were pretty good. Slaughter House was kinda disorganized on the second run as too many people got let in at once. Same thing happened on our last run on Carnevil...halfway through, we meet up with a bunch of other random peeps. We ended the evening on 1 last front row ride on Flight Deck. For the 3 hours or so in the Haunt, I was impressed! I wish I had more time, but the 3 hours allowed 2 visits each for the maze, and to squeeze some rides in. So yea...that pretty much ends it. Thanks for reading!
spaceace12 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 You couldn't have cameras in the park? Did you see a rule stating that? That doesn't sound right.
Stealthguy05 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I want to chime in on that rule, its only in the scare zones and the mazes, everywhere else you still can. I think its because of liability and they dont want you to have evidence
Coaster Palooza Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I didn't have a problem taking pictures on Saturday night. I will post my Trip Report soon. Another pic from in the maze Werewolf Maze By Top...Flight...Gun...Deck Scare Zone 1 by Carn-Evil
Angry_Gumball Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 I want to chime in on that rule, its only in the scare zones and the mazes, everywhere else you still can. I think its because of liability and they dont want you to have evidence I actually wasn't at the scare zone, I was at the outskirts of the Slaughter house area (Just before that bridge walkway headed toward Invertigo/Demon area. I did see many people though with cameras last night, and monsters posing for them. I figured that I probably better not as the security seemed to be in a more 'agressive' mode that night. I only knew that I couldn't film or videotape in the mazes as last year, a clown (in a nice way) shook his finger at me and acted like he was taking a picture.
Angry_Gumball Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Time to rebump this topic with pictures this time. Starting off with a Boofet again (We did a normal CGA session prior to Haunt) and enjoying another prescare as well as Top Gun/Flight Deck testing, I took advantage of that btw, we headed toward Carn-Evil. I bought the 3d glasses this round and the clowns' faces seemed even more 3d than they already were in real life. I was wearing my Halloween Haunt shirt, which stood out (glowing) under the black lights. Even the clowns liked me for supporting Haunt! We headed toward Club Blood, but that had a long line up to the entry. We skipped that as that was all the people who just came into the park. We headed straight to Slaughter house which was a walk-in. I had a few more times I jumped as opposed to last time. Enjoyable, took the time and looked at the scenery as there was no one behind us. After that, I was busting to go...(filled up that souvenir cup during boofet) so off to the porcelain express. Through Underworld Alley, I come across the dead bride who apparently wanted me. She wanted my bro last time but he wasn't with us. She slowly crept behind me with her hand coming toward me through the whole tunnel. Yea...she must have really wanted me! My cousin and I then hit up the Corn Stalkers which was also a walk-in. (The rest of the guests must have been still toward the front of the park). This was far better than last time and jumped quite a few times. I thought this one prop was fake...but yea...you get the idea! The end...this creature with big hands...crept toward my cousin (she knew her) So yea...all the monsters will know the name of Heather! Next...Camp Gonnagetcha! The log ride was running fine all day so I knew we'd get on this tonight. To my surprise, the ride was running and had no line at all. This weird dude described the ride as some evil version of It's a Small World...like that ride couldn't get any more evil. I then heard a GP remark: "I hope they lower the water depth as it's colder tonight." I shrugged it off and expected to get wet. This was pretty cool, and not too scary. We took our own logs, and I do admit. I did jump on the first scarer. The rest sort of went by a bit on the fast side as that's how the log ride is. I came off not even the slightest bit wet. Next, was Werewolf canyon again, but the line was sort of long. Flying Eagles was a walk-on so we ride that. By the time we got off, the line shortened up to the fence. We dealt with that and went in within 5 minutes. Pretty cool. I just wonder why I never had any chainsaw action though I heard them revving up in line. Up was Flight Deck, Carnevil, and Club Blood as the line was down to no one. We made our round again redoing the mazes (skipping Slaughter house, had a longer line) and rode Demon, Invertigo, Drop Zone, and Survivor. We ended with a traditional Flight Deck ride and had to head out. We conquered quite a bit in only 3 hours...and we were beat. My legs are still sore from all the walking. So onto the pictures! Well, that ends our evening with this eerie Corkscrew shot. Until next year (for haunt), Until next Sunday (For Flight Deck!) Thanks for reading (again!) Fire! (I know, this is completely unrelated to Halloween Haunt, but this looked cool!) The fog on the air really made an eerie setting as far as rides go. Looked cool in pictures. Clown: "Hey, you act like you're on Theme Park Review!" Me: *pauses* "I am a TPR-er!" Clown: *pauses also* "Ah, gotcha!" (Yes, that really was said. How he knew I was a TPR-er was beyond me.) I'm not sure what this is...I think it's a clown! Ghostly Top Gun shot In line for Werewolf Canyon, I snapped this with my not so steady hands...looks like a giant fireball in the trees. Another manual exposure, kinda creepy looking. Managed a nice shot of Orlean's Orbit in a rocking tub. I managed to get it to sit still enough to get this. Get in yer scooter! Time for some scootering action! Vacant Nickelodeon area, headed toward Camp Gonnagetcha. At this point, the camera was stuffed into a ziploc bag for obvious reasons. Time for some Cornstalkers! Another creepy shot of an empty park! Random Inverigo shot at night. This looks kinda creepy to me Pass...for now... Bwah-ha-ha-ha! What are you lookin at? Red eyes gazing over carousel. On our way to Slaughter House, skipping Club Blood. He looks awesome at night! Time for Carn-Evil! The Gauntlet scare zone Maybe this should be the "Stare Tower" not the "Star Tower" as it's red eyes constantly gazing over it's park. Haunt, here I come! (Sorry for the series of dark shots coming up..I used no flash tonight) Better run little piggies! *Honk-Honk* *toot* He had gas trouble... So, my cousin gets chased by him from my action! "Aaarrgghh! My eyes!" (Apparently he's sensitive to light! This dude was awesome!) Cousin: "I'd like to get a..." Clown: "Blaajasfdhwra!" (Translation: Get me a beer!) Bwa-ha-ha-ha! I'm followin' you!!! Flight Deck's turnaround A better attempt with a more visible train. Now, some time for manual exposure Flight Deck shots! I had too much fun with this! Star Tower, with a star! (Well, it's really Venus, not a star...) Gettin' darker, gettin' closer to Haunt! As my cousin's a scardey cat, she carried her poor saggy stuffed dog she took on every single ride today. And this too! Yes, I hopped out of my seat to snap this while having a mouth full of chicken! Our eating area with a view of...Flight Deck! Nom-nom-nom! Messy chicken! Empty pavilion! All you can eat! Boofet, here I come!
thrillgeek Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Those night shots are really creepy and make me even more mad that I couldn't make it to Haunt yet. I'm crossing my fingers for next Saturday. Even if it's raining I'm still going. Thanks again for the awesome pics and review!!
Coaster Palooza Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Nice photos, I'm glad to see you had fun!
Angry_Gumball Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 Thanks for the comments. So, I'm still boggled...how would 1 of the clowns know that I was a TPR-er? I had no TPR gear on....just a Halloween Haunt shirt, and my camera.
