Knights87
I just got nationally certified as an EMT and I am in the process of getting my Florida state EMT license, I was wondering if anyone knows is theme parks like Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, or Busch Gardens hires EMTs to help with medical emergencies within the parks? Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums.
timberskara
First off, congrats on the certification! I can't say for sure about the parks you specifically mentioned, but every park I've ever worked for has had EMT's on staff. In my experience, EMT's are usually hired in as part of the security department and are generally assigned to First Aid (but not everyone in First Aid is necessarily an EMT). Day-to-day duties may not be all that exciting-- anything from drug screening employees to dealing with a lot of dehydration cases-- but from time to time get to do the exciting stuff. There probably aren't a ton of openings at parks because there aren't that many positions to begin with, but with all of the FL parks to choose from you may have some luck. Best wishes
Jew
Every park has some sort of medical staff on hand. I would guess that the major parks use EMT's, but some use RN's instead. I'm sure you'll have some luck finding a job somewhere...medical staff at theme parks seem to be a pretty in demand profession.
SharkTums
Just make sure to check ALL of your options as when I talked to EMT's at parks they make less money then they would in a normal field.
tsalas08
Isn't pay in a themepark generally lower compared to similar jobs in other industries .
DenDen
^Yep. Perfect example, machine operators start $10-12 an hour, ride ops make minimum wage. In FL, it's only $6.79. If I were an EMT, I would not work in a theme park.
