davidmorton Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 I'm touring Texas (the 3xSF's, Seaworld and a bit of sight seeing) over the next couple of weeks....(expect it'll be nice and cool there)....anyway, what is the wisdom on the woodies (where should I ride and where shouldn't I?). I tend to like nice floaty air, but I'm not too averse to the odd ejector moment or two. Don't like really rough wood - backseats to avoid would be nice. I promise a lovely photo-TR when I return! Dave.
vertgforces Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 i have only been to SFot and SFFT...but the 2 SFoT coasters were fine, Rattler at SFFT was very rough imo tho
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 Ride Rattler at SFFT in the front ONLY!! When we went last year, Rattler in the front was a top 10 coaster, held my #1 spot for awhile. Back row it was crap. SFOT - TX Giant go for the front as well. Judge Roy Scream is a fun coaster, not very big so I don't think it matters. SFAW - I didn't ride the woodie here but I think the back gives some sick air.
coaster1 Posted July 4, 2005 Posted July 4, 2005 None of the Texas woodies give any airtime much anymore. Giant has some in certain areas, but with the very little rain we've had the past 2 months, it's not running very smooth at all. Judge is a decent ride regardless, and the trains just got a full rehab. Cyclone is a good decent ride, running much better than in previous years. Rattler .. well not as bad as Timber Wolf at WOF, but still not a very good ride all around.
it Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 ride rattler in every row exept the 3 back ones. tell me when you go to sea world,i live a stop light away
davidmorton Posted July 7, 2005 Author Posted July 7, 2005 Hmm... Well considering I am currently stuck in central London surrounded by terrorist bombings....I may not even make my plane on Saturday! (I have to get home from London to Manchester first, and with no trains running I could be in trouble....) But if I do make it, I won't be scared of any nasty rough wood - had a tricky enough morning today already with those naughty terrorists! Dave.
