downunder Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 You wanted the best, well they've already done their PTR's, this is what you get. First Up Coney Island Cincinnatti: not a destination park but with a waterpark, a colection of groovy little flats & a credit. You'd really have to be a total killjoy or Dick Cheney to not be able to have fun there. More wildlife: scarier than a trouser snake. Now to the wildlife section of the park: barely a second went by when the poor pig wasn't being molested. I left half my arse on this slide, it was about as slippery as sandpaper. This was more bouncy bouncy than giant drop. The lake was nice and pleasant. The park had lots of cool little flats like the spinning vomit inducer. The Pepsi Python, the king of coasters, okay, maybe not. The lines were incredibly heavy, and what are all those credit whores waiting for? A very cool little waterpark, the pool is so big I could see it from the plane. The Vekoma bus was going to have to become a low rider real quick or the occupants would be decapitated.
downunder Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 Holiday World: a great park, a little out of the way but so much fun, loved the free drinks and the atmoshere. The coasters: The Voyage: fanboys will be adding me to their people to kill list but I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as El Toro. A very good ride but it does give you a beating, especially after my 11 rides. Raven: I really liked Raven, a bit short but a really good ride that flys through the terrain, I can see why this was topping polls in days gone by. Legend: I didn't like this coaster much, rough, no airtime, I guess I'm just not into laterals. Howler: a kiddie coaster, enough said. After dark, Holidog likes to get nekkid. There's actually a missile silo under this ride. Pretty wave swinger lights. The scary thing is someone from the TRP tour actually scored with her, nice pussy. Inflamed with lust for Holidog's girl, Robb tries his best pick up lines, "I'm Robb Alvey...I have a 1000 credits...Theme Park Review...Elissa digs me..." but to no avail Holidog's studliness wins out. Holidog and his woman show up. Sh*!, I forgot something, I'll be right back up. Who needs stairmaster when you have the Voyage lifthill. Into the tunnel of pain. Weee! Ouch! Damn, that is just plain sexy. Walkback goodness, the Voyage in action, this coaster is so long. Is this what they mean by bringing home the bacon or was it just animal husbandry? Very cool looking Raven house, it was like a haunted house. "Excuse me, is it OK to have loose articles on this ride?" A very spiffy TPR tour bag sitting in one of those shelves. Those two enthusiasts were so happy about riding voyage something in their pants was stopping them getting the lap bar down. The rather damaged looking guy two rows back had ridden Blue Flash before coming to HW. What's that in the distance, I don't think it's Howler. Ironically the world's "best" wood coaster is primarily steel. I love a walkback in the morning, Raven testing had them snapping like Japanese tourists. The Arrow bus parked in the Legend Lot, the rest, well...Don't forget to lock your doors the Children of the Corn were waiting for darkness. One of the variety of spelling that TPR would get during the tour, later we would be "Revue" because little did we know we were the new show at Holiday World. The TPR whores decend on unsuspecting Holiday World like zombies to a shopping mall. The Raven just teasing us before opening. Considering I live 14,000 miles from this place I'm amazed to be here.
Reon Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Since when is the paddleboats an upcharge? I've worked at Coney for 2 years now (I was actually operating Phython when you guys came), and our only upcharge is mini-golf (and the Eurobungy dome we're getting this year.)
downunder Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 ^Apologies, I mut have been under the impression it was an upcharge - I'll plead jetlag from the 20 hours of flying the day before. I've changed the caption.
TheRapidsNerd Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 You're timing is great. Just got done looking for older Coney Island info and was wondering "Hey, what's it like today?" Then...g-zot! You're thread appears and my curiosity is answered. Chuckled at several of the captions. Lame and Sad? I think not.
