I had an interesting day to say the least. The park was packed and the temperature rose to a dry 98 degrees. My girlfriend invited her best friend and her son, and I had a friend from LA in town so we figured why not? All the coasters seemed to be running, except Cobra. It was stuck on its wittle wittle lift hill. But by the time we purchased our tickets it was fixed and the tiny screams of 'Wheeee' rejoined the parks super family oriented atmosphere. As soon we walked in the gates the girls grabbed a snack, and my com padre and I hitched a ride on the Hammerhead. Needles to say, that ride made us giggle, but more in the 'I had to do something to keep from freaking out...why the eff did I drink that wine-arita?!

Anyways, after we got our feet back on the ground, we met up at the Chicken strip shack and got our bearings. The unanimous vote went to the Dolphin show, so we started to hike. After the quick trek we found a shady spot dead center of the arena. The show was full in attendance, fun, and interactive.

We 5 exited after the show and made our way toward Monsoon falls. After standing in the sun for about 25 minutes my girlfriend didnt feel so good.

She's a fair skinned red head, a known mortal enemy of the Sun.

So I suggested we all get some water and refresh ourselves. Our journey for H20 lead us to the Looney Toons Seaport where we found a vending machine. As I started to dig into my back pocket for my wallet, the little lady says she feels as if she is going to pass out. Not even a second later, it happens. Our friend waves down the closest neon green shirt and within 5 minutes they had her situated in a wheel chair. But it didnt stop there, just after my lady sat in her newly acquired trasportation, her friend passes out from the heat!

With all the insanity that was our first 45 minutes in the park, the lead medic on our call was calm and professional. He called out for another wheelchair and had ice water delivered to the unlucky women in our group. Another 5 minutes passed and we were quickly ushered backstage to the air conditioned first aid portable. Ice bags were distributed and applied to the back of their necks, more water was brought/consumed, and Theo kept our 5 year old member entertained with stories of dirt bikes. Our experience was met with such prompt urgency and professionalism, we really feeling the . Once the ladies regained their composure, Theo had free passes waiting for us for a return visit when it wasnt the hottest day of the year (so far). He really went above and beyond for us with that one, and it really lifted everyones spirits. From there, the security team drove us to our cars and welcomed us back soon. We're definitely getting our season passes soon, with that kind of service and attention to detail how could you not want to return?

I'm sorry to hear about the unfortunate events of your visit, but it's great to hear that it was handled well. Sounds like the staff had excellent service on all levels, for sure.

This definitely reminded me of the day I passed out at a park from dehydration. Nowadays it's always in the back of my mind reminding me to drink tons of water when in a similar circumstance-- lesson learned!

98 degrees though, really? Man, I am in the wroooooonnng state .

^The staff was on point. They all had great customer service skills. While Theo was wheeling my lady backstage, he was giving us an impromptu mini tour. "On your left is our mechanics station and welding facility...." It really set the bar for our future experiences. GO THEO!

Yeah, I bet my girl will always make sure to keep hydrated from now on. It was Vallejo's hottest day of the year, it was 64 not even two days ago. So the jump in heat was really drastic. We were the 3rd case of heat exhaustion so far...

I really love all the good stories I'm hearing of Six Flags this season, let's hope they can keep it up.

You'd never get treated like that in a Cedar Fair park...

Really? Thats a shame. When I started on the boards here all I could see in the posts were people wishing SF Ops and Customer Service were more like CF parks. My how things have changed...

^I'm officially calling this instance the "expansion effect" - when a company gets too big, they tend to care less about customer experience quality. At least that's evident in the amusement park industry.

^Its a shame, really. But hey, we got the long end of the straw in this case

I think we may make another appearance this weekend at the park. Weather reports claim it will be partly cloudy, perfect weather for my fair skinned partner in crime
