It would honestly be better to visit in Late September or October than August. The worst time to visit Florida would be from June-August. The parks a super crowded and yes its really hot due to the humidity.

I've been to Florida in July (hot and humid) and in October (much more bearable---almost as nice as Southern California where I live).

Better to go in October. Also, that's when the International Food & Wine Festival is going on at Epcot. Think CHOUP!!! Think October.

August is a busy time for the Orlando theme parks, although the end of the month is less busy than the beginning.

If you really want to go at a good time, try October. The day crowds tend to be moderate, but you also have the various Halloween events going on at night.
