Vffreak07 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 2008 - General improvements to the park and its infrastructure, including an upgrade of the park’s ticketing system and a new Halloween Haunt attraction for ValleySCARE, will enhance the overall guest experience. Looks like a pretty good improvement. New House for the Haunt is always nice. Also, for anyone who is wondering, the ticketing system (the new one) will be similar to Kings Islands ticketing system.
WildStangAlex Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Is Kings Island's ticketing the same as it was under Paramount?
TC Ridesalot Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Worlds of fun is also getting a new haunt. I will say that last years Holloween festivities were good. They even had a Improv group that was really dirty. I was shocked but boy it was fun. From what I heard these parks are making huge profits now for Halloween which is somewhat new and very benifical. I still don't count a new haunt as at the same level as a new ride and WOF really needs flats. I truly think CF missed the boat going two full years with no new ride.
Jim S. Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 So what's the difference between Halloweekends and a Haunt? Dorney Park's official blog says they're upgrading to a Haunt this year but the official announcement isn't ready yet, and since I don't live near any other Cedar Fair parks I have no idea what that means.
timberskara Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Halloweekends are geared toward a different audience. As far as I know, most Halloweekend parks don't use blood in their screamsters' make-up and most of the houses aren't themed with the disgusting, gore-filled fun that parks with the Halloween Haunt use. The Halloween Haunt doesn't hold back, so to speak.
Vffreak07 Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 Yeah the Halloween Haunt goes all out, has more blood, gore, and insanity, while Halloweekends is geared towards families sort of.
Vffreak07 Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 It has been announced! A new slaughterhouse-themed maze will "beef up" the scare levels this autumn at the third annual Halloween Haunt at ValleySCARE. Within the depths of the slaughterhouse, innocent mortals must escape murderous butchers and maniacal plant workers who crave the blistered flesh of their human victims. "Slice and dice" will take on a whole new meaning inside this brutal meatpacking plant. The slaughterhouse maze will be ValleySCARE’s seventh haunted area. Other areas include a zombie graveyard, insane asylum, clown maze, vampire lair, pirate cove and haunted farm. ValleySCARE’s hauntmasters have invited the public to submit names for the new maze. A new "Name the Haunt" contest will be available at valleyscare.com from March 17 – April 13, 2008. The participant whose maze name is chosen will win admission tickets to the opening night of the Halloween Haunt and the first spot in line for the new attraction. For the official contest rules and more information, click here to visit the Halloween Haunt web site. Sounds awesome!
