Twister II Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Okay I went to Six Flags Elitch Gardens today, so I could let my dad go fishing! We left at 8:39, 9mins behind schedule. We got on I-76 around 8:50. When we got to the park at 9:45, I had to go get my season pass replacement. Its not that the park is bad, the employees are soooo friendly but can be sooo slow. Because it took me 20mins in a 4 person line at Guest Relations to get my lil' season pass replacement ticket. Then after that, I had to go stand in line for Season Pass Processing. Lucly, they have a special door for me and it only took a full 2mins. After I got into the park, I went to Halfpipe first. Noticing the WB Backlot Tour Crash thingy in the Halfpipe Plaza. Halfpipe was running quite well, I think it got new wheels. Next I went to Boomerang sence they are only 20ft from each other. The ops are Boomerang are so the best. I really do love how the kids just strike up the 20 second conversation. Some times they are sooo friendly. The ops were talking about how Iguana's put their pinapples on the track. It was so hilarious! They were letting people reride over and over again til they finally had a 'line'. When I got off Boomerang there was a guy shouting "YES!!! WOOHO! OH YEA BABY!!! LAST ONE! I RODE ALL 37 IN AMERICA!! YEAH! WHOO HOO! BEST ONE EVER!!!". This guy freaked me out. After rideing Boomerang, I went to Twister II. Twister II, I noticed something sitting the the front seat than usually in the back. Twister has TONS of lateral G forces. I really like sitting in front now! Then to Tower of Doom, Im lucky I got on this, because later that day it closed of high winds. (I so told you guys it closes on a dime) I really like to do a fun thing and work my way from the back of the park to the front. So I did the back, and now to the mid section. Mind Eraser, at first it was down, but I got inline anyways. There were 2 mechanics and a sweep in the "Restricted, Danger Zone" area. I thought they were looking for hats at first, but I was wrong. A lil later in the queue I smelt something so, so vile. I looked up and on the cloth above me there was puke everyware. So apparently some one just lost their breakfeast on the 90degree turn after the heart loop. Gross. I was itching to get out of the Mind Eraser area. I went to The Flying Coaster next. It was very rought, like usual. But the ops were so cute on the ride. All of them were girls probly no bigger than 5 feet tall and had such small, nice voices for such a peice of crap ride. Sidewinder, again with those friendly ops. He made us screem loud, or he wouldnt let us dispatch, and I lost my penny on this ride I found earlier. Now to the water park! I started with Splashdown ( the big red slide), after a 35min wait, I was finally on my way down. This ride is hella fun. Probly the best. If you have just enough weight in the BIG tube, you will FLY around those turns. When the op says hold on at all times, do it. I went on The Edge next. The new 'V' shaped water ride for 2005. I waited 45mins. But it was worth it. When I got to the top, I was having second thoughts. I didnt know if I could do it! I sucked it in and did it anyways. All I saw was white, then BOOM!!! I was at the other end at the very top, starting backwards. This ride gives some wicked air, I almost felt like screaming. Sence we didnt have a lot of time left, I went on the (almost) vertical speed slide. Okay, to speed up, after water park, we did lunch, then go back into the thrill part of the park til about 3:30. I got a shirt. When I got home, I was waisted, but I made a short video of our trip. http://rapidshare.de/files/2495807/SFEG611.wmv.html NOTE: all the rides in red had friendly ops today!
socalMAN123 Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Nice TR and great video! I never realized how nice SFEG looks. My friends in Colorado say it's kind of a boring park, but it actually seems pretty nice. ---Brent 8)
Twister II Posted June 20, 2005 Author Posted June 20, 2005 Elitch Gardens isnt boreing. Well if they are coaster nuts then it would be. Because its not Cedar Point with 16 coasters. It just has a few. Its definitly a park you can just go hang out with your friends at.
Twister II Posted June 21, 2005 Author Posted June 21, 2005 Because Halfpipe is a big U. How do you film something like that? LOL
kenshinmac Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 How anyone can have anything positive to say about that Boomerang is beyond me... I swear every time I feel like I have aged 5 years when I get off it... OMG my back hurts, my neck is screaming and I usually have taken at least 6 blows from the restraint during rough track... Heck I'm probably in the minority but I firmly feel that Flying Coaster is more comfortable than Boomerang... Of course it could have something to do with the fact that I am 6'1" and my legs don't fit in the Boomerang cars and the restraint pushes rather uncomfortably... I think I might hit the park for the first time this season next weekend... I gotta say I am seriously dissapointed that they STILL haven't painted the first corner on the Twister 2... Two years since they did that refurb...
