bobafett Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Great pics! My husband and I just got back from Universal Studios and HHN17. We went on the 27th(this past Saturday), we had express passes and the wait for express that night wasn't bad at all. The only houses we waited for was Vampyr and Friday the 13th which was about 10 minutes each with the express. Everything else we breezed thru. The regular waits were over 90 minutes. Thank god for express pass. I too was a little disappointed with the lack of scare zones but overall it was a great time. And another thing, is it me or did it seem that the selling of alcoholic beverages was a little out of control this year? I mean don't get me wrong I'm not prude or anything and I like to get my drink on every now and then but to have a drink stand every foot and a half even while waiting in the lines seemed a little excessive to me. And then they wonder why they needed more security because more fights are breaking out this year. I just think it was a little overkill this year. Anybody else think this or am I a old fuddy duddy? Please let me know.
piers Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 we had express passes and the wait for express that night wasn't bad at all. The only houses we waited for was Vampyr and Friday the 13th which was about 10 minutes each with the express. Everything else we breezed thru. The regular waits were over 90 minutes. This was exactly the same waits we had all night with Express. I agree with what you say about the alcohol, except the carnage cocktails were lame. I had 4 and a beer and felt nothing. It seemed they were selling $9 ice and juice with a pipette and rum, what a waste! Event overall was pretty cool for my first time though.
bobafett Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 ^Hey piers did you go Saturday night also? We went in 2005 and again this year. We had a great time. We didn't drink at all, way too overpriced like you said. We had drinks back at the bar at our hotel(the Portofino Bay) and it was much nicer and more relaxing.
piers Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 ^No I went last thursday, couldnt belive it was so busy. I have a pic somewhere of the wait time board saying 120 for TCM! Will post it when I'm home with resizing tools!
larrygator Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I didn't get a buzz from those Carnage Cocktails until the 5th one. Not very strong at all. But I did have fun pointing the blinky light on the bottom of the cup at scare zone actors to keep them at bay.
piers Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 ^We also made a lovely couple with our matching fruity drinks. If anyone wants proper drinking at the moment, I would highly recomend drinking around the world at Epcots food and wine show!
