Laptop Help Needed (adding ram to mine)

I am going to double my Laptop Ram. So far what I can tell, I have ddr2 pc5300 in right now. What I don't know is if I have two 512 sticks of ram in my laptop right now or one 1 gig stick. My laptop is a Compaq f730us presario.

You can buy external RAM sticks too...
