NEW YORK - There was no Halloween bogeyman in the closet for one Brooklyn woman — just a 7-foot-long python in her toilet. Nadege Brunacci was washing her hands in her bathroom before dawn Monday when she glanced back and saw the slithering serpent peeking out from her toilet, most of its body hidden in the pipes.

 

"I turned on the light and screamed," Brunacci, 38, told the New York Daily News. "It still makes my heart race."

 

Brunacci slammed down the lid, put a heavy box on top of the toilet and began calling for help, which came from her landlord and firefighters. Plumbers had to tear apart the downstairs neighbor's pipes to capture the snake, she said.

 

It's unclear how the snake made its way into the pipes.

 

Brunacci, a restaurateur, says she gave the snake to a friend who keeps it as a pet and named it after her.

 

Brunacci says she started using her daughter's training toilet after the scare in her third-floor apartment. And when she brushes her teeth, she said, "I'm looking over my shoulder."

Weird. My aunt actually found a snake in her toilet once. I can't remember what kind of snake it was, but she started having trouble flushing the toilet, so she took the top off and found a fairly good sized snake in it..

A python? In a toilet? Unless the pipes were extremely wide, I don't see how a python could make it up there. Maybe a small Black Racer/Garden snake, but a PYTHON?

The python was a pet, but it was getting too big for its owner to take care of it. Owner carelessly abandons the Python someplace in a swampy area and somehow ends up in the sewers.

^Sadly, that happens. Even sadder is that some people flush their unwanted pets down the toilet.

That is horrible, its actually my worst nightmare. Im surprised they let her keep it.

That would scare the crap out of me. I would probably have killed the snake before anyone came near enough to help. Then I would have a mental breakdown and sue the dead snake!

Yeah...I could just imagine, how much of a shocker it would be to see a snake in your toilet. I'll admit.. it would definitely scare the crap out of me!!

I bet it belongs to someone who lives on the upper floors of that building.

It must have ran away from someone's apartment via the toilette.
