Vffreak07 Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 You got any pics from the walkthrough? (If not can you PM me on what it was like so you don't spoil it for others since I'm not going?)
Jive Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 We don't publish any of the photos until after the Haunt season.
rwk Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 My local park, Dorney Park is getting the HAUNT upgrade this year, new haunts, so it will be more in line with the other parks. Dorney's haunt will no longer be the worst. I remember when Dorney Park had dark rides prior to Cedar Fair, during the Plarr early 1900's-1967/Bob Ott 1967-1985/Harris Weinstein 1985-1992 regimes. Journey to the Center of the Earth mill chute by Coaster/Thunderhawk, torn down after 1992, Bucket O' Blood dark ride, burned Sept. 28, 1983, Gold Mine walkthrough under arcade, closed 1984 or 1985, 100 year old building torn down fall 2005, the Whacky Shack, burned 1973, and the Iceberg/Meteorite PTC cuddle-up, rethemed 1989/1990, only "dark ride" to survive into Cedar Fair first full year 1993, razed 1994 for Patio Pizza. It was the only PTC Cuddle-up left I think. And Bob Ott one of the former park owners, passed away a year ago March 4, 2007. I met him twice at book signings, at the park and an old grist mill house. He ran the park between 1967-1984 retiring May 1985 selling to Harris Weinstein. Ott's son Bob retired to Florida when he and his father decided to leave the park, and so did Weinstein after 1992. Weinstein sold DP to Cedar Fair July 1992.
Vffreak07 Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 Dorney Park, (In case you haven't heard already) is transforming into the Halloween Haunt at Dorney Park. Basically, they're going to have 3 new haunts (I think). Cornstalkers, Central Stalkway, and Club Blood. More info at Dorney's Website.
