Mr Pete Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Yesterday, both myself and Juggler made a trip down to Thorpe. Neither of us have been since Nemesis Inferno's opening year, so it would be nice to see how Inferno has bedded in and also to take on Stealth. Stealth was not open for park opening, as maintenance were still working on it. So off we ventured into the rest of the park, here are some random notes for the day. Inferno has really bedded in nicely, pulling some nice G's around the course. 1 train was running at park opening. Colossus was truly awful, square wheels were apparent even just going up the lift hill you could feel it. We skipped X:/ Ctrl Alt Delete? After an hour Stealth had opened with 1 train, this stayed like it for the rest of the day. We timed it just right and got the 3rd train out in the front seat, although I have done TTD this is still a great ride for half the size. Juggler now cannot wait until next years USA Tour. About 4/5 runs after us someone decided to take on a loose jumper resulting in it getting ejected on the Top Hat, it eventually came to rest on the track about 30 feet up. Resulting in the ride being closed for well over an hour. Ride ops were blaming the rider, but they really have to take the blame themselves for not checking for loose articles. We carried on around the park, taking in the rapids, log flume and the relocated Flying Fish. Juggler rode Vortex, whilst I sat out on this way. After lunch Stealth was once again running, we looked at the queue but it was well over an hour long. The single rider queue was not going anywhere quick. Inferno was by then running two trains, but were constantly stacking them. At about 1.30pm we decide to call it a day, I headed home and Juggler set off to see other friends in South Wales. Onto piccys. Does this Top Hat suit me? Weeeeeeee! Back in action. One more Inferno shot for good measure. Porn shot for Derek. Inferno was running great. Spin cycle, ouch! Don't fancy getting that wet. But not for long..... Finally open! Intamin porn. Open damn you... Juggler awaits his first Top Hat fix. Not open
Nemesis Inferno Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Lol, jumper...... Sounds like a typical Thorpe day, Stealth not open on time, Colossucks being rough, and I do agree, it's even MORE noticable on the lift.... No mention of Rush and Slammer, still not open the pair of them? Inferno is the best coaster there btw, FACT...
RIP Psyclone Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Whoa, what fell on the track? I wonder how catastrophic it would have been had it not been noticed.
Mr Pete Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Rush, Slammer, Quantum & Samurai were all down. Rush was being worked on, and Samurai had a cherry picker next to it with no signs of life at that or the others. My guess is that Stealth would have come to an abrupt halt, if the jumper got chewed through the wheels.
