Well since there's been some news lately about Zippin Pippin I figured I'd drive out to Libertlyland and see what's left... I hadn't been in over a year so I figured things would be different, and they were:

IT WAS PAVED OVER! EVERYTHING WAS GONE!

Haha, not quite, this is the fairgrounds, the 'reason' Libertyland closed...

As I drove up, it was obvious that the park was really beginning to get that "abandoned" park feel.

Even the Creative Arts building was looking worse that it usually does.

You can see here where they're using the park's entrance plaza as a storage area for the fair's ticket booths.

At least the welcome sign is still up...

Same as last year, the Libertyland signage is still barely visible.

Windows are busted out all over the place... it looks pretty pathetic.

The former spot of Rebellion, now at Ghost Town in the Sky...

Yeah thanks for the up-keep...

The entrance building is skinnier than I thought...

It was pretty hot outside.

The entrance plaza is also being used as table city until the fair.

Yeah, ticket booths out the frame...

We're not....

Top of the train station.

More of the crappy fairgrounds.

Seriously, would you be drawn to want to go to this?

Zippin Pippin, all that's really left.

Still in near-operating condition.

This hill produced some nice airtime.

The turnaround.

Scoop's had ice cream and stuff like that.

The turnaround after the lift... It's taller in person.

Everything's so overgrown it looks like the ride is in a forest.

Third turnaround from across the parking lot.

Yeah I wonder what they're using that for...

More airtime hills....

Lesson for the younger folks: don't drive and take pictures...

I hate this privacy mesh crap that they've put up... they even took my sign down!

It even had a protective covering, haha.

All that's left of Revolution...

Thanks for reading.

That's pretty sad to see that the park is basically dead. I figure they could still make some money off of the Zippin' Pippin (if it is still in operating condition) by using the pay-per ride methodology... Shame to see the coaster sit there, but maybe Cypress Gardens' owner will buy this dead woodie's remains too...

It's always sad to see a woodie staying silent and not running, esp the Zippin Pippin which was Elvis fav coaster.

Hopefully in a few years a Park might buy the ride and restore it back to it's status.

Did the deal fall through when the park got sold..?

They should just move the Zippin Pippin to Graceland and have it as a pay-per-ride. I think that would be a pretty cool idea so people could ride Elvis's favorite coaster at Elvis's house!

I have to admit that the slightly greedy side of me is a bit bummed that Zippin Pippin isn't being moved to Carolina Crossroads since I would only have to drive an hour-hour and a half to ride it, but I definatly hope that somehow it is reopened.

Yeah...

I agree, but Graceland has said they want nothing to do with the ride, which seems somewhat odd to me, think of the draw that would bring to the attraction... I guess they don't want to have to deal with moving/restoring it.
