Golfie Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I just got back from good 'ol Gurnee, and had a fun time at Six Flags today. Just a few main points about the day... - First off, it was REALLY HOT! The sun was out in full force and the air was so sticky and humid. - Batman: The Ride has gotten a bit of a makeover - it's restraints have been replaced with new (and soft!) day-glow yellow OTSR's. - The park was extremely empty, however Superman: Ultimate Flight remains to have the longest wait at the park. (Despite the Geico sign saying "Wait is only 15 minutes from this points", we probably ended up waiting around 30 minutes) - In the afternoon when we went to go ride Raging Bull, we walked right into the station! That was definitely a nice surprise, but I think the ride might have been having some issues today, since a little while later they were testing empty trains. - The red train on Demon has gotten some new paint (which can't be good... new paint = not being torn down for a while). Demon really isn't horrid, but I'd rather take an intamin rocket coaster in that area instead. - Deja Vu was running. Actually, EVERYTHING was running today - nice job, SF! Golfie
SFGAm Shock Wave Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Extremely empty? That suprises me. I was thinking about going today, maybe I should have
Guest Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 - The red train on Demon has gotten some new paint (which can't be good... new paint = not being torn down for a while). Not only new paint, a huge mechanical overhaul and its tracking very smooth. They are also making a new Eagle Red train right now (and ive heard they might make a new blue one also) which looks very sharp and will probably be running next year. What makes you think they would tear out Demon? Its still a very popular ride, especially because the height requirement is 42" It was empty because it was supposed to rain all day. It stormed pretty hard in the morning. (Despite the Geico sign saying "Wait is only 15 minutes from this points", we probably ended up waiting around 30 minutes) SUFs line was out to the queue house (at least) all day which is a 30 minute wait, that sign is posted at the bottom of the stairs which is like a 10 minute wait.
Golfie Posted July 28, 2007 Author Posted July 28, 2007 ^It had broken down later in the day, so everyone left the line. We were lucky and got to walk all the way to a little before the Flash Pass entrance into the queue.

Golfie Posted August 2, 2007 Author Posted August 2, 2007 Did he say "very smooth"? I have to say, the yellow train was the best ride on Demon I've had in a while (although my head being above the top of the restraints might have something to do with it now ) The red train, on the other hand, was shaking side to side like crazy, even on the straight bits between the two loops and inside the tunnel.
