Dj Agus
Hi Robb and Elissa, I' m an italian boy that read your forum almost every day. I find it very interesting and much better than any other italian forum about amusement parks and you are very cool people. Now i have a question for you: Is Silver Star at Europa Park very scary? I like roller coasters very much but i tried a very few of them. Next week i' m going to Europa Park and i' m very excited about riding Silver Star but also a little afraid.... Which coaster do you suggest me to try to prepare myself for Silver Star? Thank you very much for deserving my awful english (sorry but i don' t like to use the automatic translator so i wrote the message by myself ) greetings
Groteslurf
Hello, Silver Star is an impressive coaster but not that scary imo. The lifthill is going very fast so you are at the top before you know it. The first drop is fast and is shaky lately I noticed beginning this week. But as the seats are very comfortable, it is still good. The rest of the ride is still very smooth. If you are a rollercoaster fan, I would not hesitate to ride Silver Star. Hope this helps a bit. Dj Agus
Thank you very much Groteslurf! I really appreciate your help! What do you mean with shaky? It is very rough? greetings
SharkTums
Not really shaky...more like a 'rattle'. Have you ever been on a roller coaster that tall before? It might look scary to you, but it really is a fun, gentle ride once you're on it. There's nothing to really prepare for it...I guess maybe the big Splash down boat is the most similar! Groteslurf
Not really shaky...more like a 'rattle'. I indeed didn't choose the best wording. If you are into coasters, you have to ride Sista. You won't regret you did !
Dj Agus
Hi SharkTums I' ve never been on a coaster that tall before.... The tallest coaster i rode was a pathetic Vekoma SLC and i didn' t really like the experience.... But if Silver Star is a gentle ride i' m definitely gonna ride it next week! Thank you Groteslurf and Elissa! greetings
Team Thriller
Silver Star is not scary at all. It looks very scary but afterwards you will want to ride again. The first time you ride, you should ride up front. Trust me when I say, you'll love it.
Wood Dragon 1988
I was mad-scared of Apollo's Chariot (a similar looking coaster) when I first saw it as like a 10 or 11 year old back in 1999 or 2000. I'm sure it's going to frighten you, even after about a dozen laps on various hypers myself, I still get a bit scared 200 feet up in the air. However, I would suggest doing a ride like Euro-mir, Euro-sat, or Pegasus, which are smaller coasters before tackling Silver Star. Silver Star doesn't have a great reputation among enthusiasts, but for you at least, it should be crazy compared to that f*&^ing SLC! BTW-Have a great time at Europa! It has a reputation of being one of the greatest parks in the world, and I would really love to visit it one day!
timetrial3141592
Once you ride a hyper... you never look at coasters the same way again.
