Hi,

I'm planning on a trip to Kennywood next week. What would be a good day to go? Are they less crowded during the week? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Weekdays are good. But, I would check Kennywood's website. Usually everyday for a few weeks in June they have school picnic days.

Hope you have a great time, I love Kennywood. Make sure you ride the T-Bolt a couple of times, it's running amazing this year.

I was thinking about going there soon. Does anyone know if it's a long drive from good ole' Albany NY? Also if it's worth going for 2 days??

I checked mapquest.com and it says about 8 hours of driving. Kennywood can be done in a day, but for a new comer to the park, I would definetly take two days and let the park soak in. It's one of the finest parks (traditional) I have been to. I love it, hope you have a great time.

^^ I've also heard that for some reason, alot of parks have their least attendence on Thursday. That's when I would go. But during the summer, especially the beginning, almost everyday is crowded.

Kennywood will be about the same very day for the next two weeks or so, then the weekdays will be a little less crowded than the weekends.

With that said, it is a pretty rare occasion when Kennywood is so crowded that it is unmanagable. Look for the longest waits to be for Exterminator and Garfield's Nightmare. My best advice is to hit the Exterminator early and nightmare late.

If you go on the weekend, drop me a line. Would love to meet up. I am about 45 minutes away.

I'd advise against using Mapquest to get to the park, as the route it sent us on during our first visit was, um, not good. Use the directions on Kennywood's site, so you spend more time at the park and less time attempting to figure out if you're still in PA like we did...
