Ok, so my girlfriend (shocking, I know) and her friend are going to WDW for about six days in about a week. I can't go because of work, plus I want to go in October. Being the nice pushover I am, I'm trying to help them plan out the stay a little better. They've already got plane tickets, hotel reservations, and park hoppers.

I've made a list of the rides they should definitely go on. Besides, I think six days there is probably more than enough to get on all the good rides.

Basically all I need for advice is good but relatively inexpensive restaurants they should go to, other places to check out that aren't the parks, helpful hints, etc. etc. Is Pleasure Island any good?

Basically any advice would be magic!

Alhough I am not too good with the restaurants inside the parks, here are some killer joints outside Disney's boundaries.

Chevys (Mexican, $12 a person) - These place has the freshest Mexican food anywhere, and is easily accesible from Disney. It is right across the street from the Downtown Disney entrance at the "Crossroads"

Kim Wu (Chinese, $15 a person) - Sit down chinese restaurant located about 3 blocks down Kirkman from the Universal entrance on Kirkman.

Columbia (Spanish, $20 a person) - Legendary restaurant that offer a wide variety of spanish dishes. Not for everybody but if you want something different, this is the place. Located on downtown Celebration. Not sure if they run the buses over here or not.

Rainforest Cafe (Variety, $20+ Person) - There are two of these. One at the entrance to the Animal Kingdom and another in Downtown Disney. Their prices are a little bit better than most of Disney's sit-down restaurants, but the food is as good or better than all of them. They also have some rockin' "Boat Drinks"

Hope this helps a little. If they are only interested in Disney sit-downs then I would recommend Tony's in the Magic Kingdom and the Sci-Fi at MGM.

^Tony's?!?! That place is horrible! My mom's fish was overcooked on the outside and raw on the inside! Their sauce isn't good either. Even the chicken fingers were bad! I mean, really, how do you make bad chicken fingers?

The Rainforest Cafe is amazing. There are animals that move it is (Stuffed, Teddy like), there are thunderstorms in the cafe, even though there aren't enough outside! And the food is really, really nice.

I like the all you can eat buffets to. Like Sizzlers, Golden Coral etc. Unlimited supply of food!

We have a Rainforest out here at Disneyland Resort and I don't think any of us really like it...too tacky and overpriced.

Thanks for the help so far!

Pleasure Island is certainly worth checking out. Don't miss the Adventurer's Club, and catch a show at the Comedy Club.

As far as places to eat, "low cost" and Disney don't really go together. Having said that, I've found the food quality at WDW to be pretty much good or better, and don't think the value for the money is too bad. I think the Japanese pavillion in Epcot is an excellent place for food, as is the Fish & Chips stand in the England area. There's a brew place on the Boardwalk that's also good (can't remember the name right now). I've rarely eaten outside of the parks when I've been in Orlando, but pretty much every chain restaurant on the planet has at least one location not all that far from Disney. They can head over to I Drive and find many food places, along with mini-golf! You can't go wrong with mini-golf...

^ Big River Brewery, I believe...The sad thing is that when I first started a Disney, we were updating the WDW site, so I basically know every restaurants name, what it looks like, etc. But I have no idea on the quality of the food or even what they serve. I think you were talking about how good Spoodles was, and that was the first time I found out what they actually served there.

^Yeah, that's it, Big River Brewery. They have godly meatloaf, and the beer is pretty tasty too! And I've only done Spoodle's for breakfast, but I'd imagine food at other times of the day is good, as the breakfast there is excellent...
