coastermaniac1 Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I am going to Parque Warner Madrid, Parque Atracciones Madrid and Port Aventura in less than 2 weeks. I heard that you can get a train + entrance ticket for Parque Warner Madrid, is this true? And if so how much does it cost? I am thinking of buying the fastpass because it's only €10 but I have read alot of reviews that say the park is always quiet. I am going on Sunday the 24th to Parque Warner. Is there any SRQ's in either Parque Warner Madrid or Parque Atracciones? And any advice for either Madrid parks. Thanks.
Groteslurf Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 I know you can buy a train ticket with Parque Warner ticket included. Since we rented a car when we there, I can't help you with anymore info on that. You can indeed buy a fast pass in PW, but also don't have any experience with that as there were zero lines when we were there (weekdays, September last year). Be aware for Coaster Express : probably the most painful coaster i've ever been on. Must do in PdA is the horror house : you have to pay a few euro to enter but it's worth the money. I'm probably getting old, but what does SRQ stands for ?
thomas2 Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 You can indeed go with the train to Parque Warner. The station of the park is called Parque de Ocio. You can get a ticket with train and entrance but I don't remeber how much is costed. Spanish rail is really cheap so you shouldn't worry anyway. About the fast pass: when I was there in august last year, I had to wait 0 min. There was absolutely no people riding the coasters and the operators let you remain seated if you wanted to. One of my best park days I've ever had. Have fun!
coastermaniac1 Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 , but what does SRQ stands for ? Single Rider Que. I will see what the crowds are like before I get a Fastpass, hopefully it wont be busy. And Parque Atracciones has some weird tatoo ticket thing, does that mean you can walk around the park without going on anything for free or do you have to pay full price to go into and walk around the park? I myself will be going on the rides but my mother wont.
Groteslurf Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 No SRQ's in PW as far as i can remember. When we were there, everybody had to pay at the entrance : no tatoos nor whristbands.
coastermaniac1 Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 Must do in PdA is the horror house : you have to pay a few euro to enter but it's worth the money How much does that cost? I went on the one in Tivoli World a few years ago and it was so scary.
USRoadTripper Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 This is a photo of the price board that I took last year at Parque de Atracciones. You have the option of buying a "calco" (unlimited use of all attractions except Viejo Caseron), an adult admission including two attractions, a kids admission including four attractions, or an "entrada paseo" ("walking pass") that is park admission only and not good for riding any of the rides. I don't see the point to getting the restricted admission since Parque has some of the best, cheesiest smaller attractions I've seen. I think the calco pass is worth every penny and more! -Julie

I went on the one in Tivoli World a few years ago and it was so scary. The horror house is called Viejo Caseron i now remember due to above post. I don't remember how much exactly it costed but it must have been somewhere between euro 1.5 and 3.5.
coastermaniac1 Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 Thanks for the information. What is the name of Parque Warner's train station?, I keep forgetting. I will do a PTR of all the parks when I get back.
thomas2 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Thanks for the information. What is the name of Parque Warner's train station?, I keep forgetting. I will do a Photo TR of all the parks when I get back. Let me quote myself: You can indeed go with the train to Parque Warner. The station of the park is called Parque de Ocio. You can get a ticket with train and entrance but I don't remeber how much is costed. Spanish rail is really cheap so you shouldn't worry anyway. coastermaniac1 Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 Oh Thanks for the help. I will do a PTR when I get back.
exmouse Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Got back from 2 days in Madrid this morning. So can share some info you might find helpful. Parque De Attraciones nearest Metro station is Batan, forgotten which line it is. As you exit the station turn left, go down the hill under the train line and the park is on the right hand side. It is 26Euros for an unlimited ride pass. I was very unimpressed by the park. The queue jumping was the worst I've ever witnessed. In the queue for Abismo I was literally going backwards. Smoking is ripe in the park, ride operators do it and the queue lines are at times in a cloud of smoke. But by far my greatest concern was at no point did I ever have my lap bar checked. I find this appaling espeically on the likes of Abismo where you are completely dependent upon it. There wasn't even a visual check. There is no fast pass or SRQ at this park and the queues were very slow. Abismo and Tornado both 1 hour, Tarantula 30 minutes other rides mainly walk on. Parque Warner can be reached by train from Atocha Renfe station. You can buy a combined ticket for 33Euros which is park entry and return train ticket. You are given a receipt which you exchange at Geust services at the park for your entry ticket, they do have English park maps on request but they are from 2006. The train you need is C3, you have to get off at Pinto and get on the C3a and then get off at Parque Acios as someones else says. Trains leave Atocha Renfe at 02 and 32 minutes past the hour. Queue jumping and smoking in the queue lines wasn't anywhere near as bad as De Attraciones. I really liked this park and loved Supermand Floorless. They do have fast passes that can be bought from any of the shops. Hope that helps.
coastermaniac1 Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Thanks, that was very helpful. I was surprised that there was ques in Parque de Atracciones. All the reviews I have read nothing had a que. And I dont like the sound of not having my lap bar checked on Abismo.
exmouse Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I was surpirsed too. We got there about 5 in the evening and stayed till the park closed at 10pm the queues never improved. Parque Warner had short queues on most rides except Batmand and Superman which were both 45 minutes.
Groteslurf Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 It's is indeed unbelievable that the lapbars are on Abismo are not physically checked. There must be a control screen on which the operator can see that all lapbars are secured, but still, a physical check should be done. When i see the waiting times mentioned here in some posts, i really feel lucky that we had such light crowds when we were there : PdA we still had to wait a few minutes for some attractions, but in PW we had all day long only walk ons.
coastermaniac1 Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 ^Yeah, I hope it is like that when I am there. And Parque de Atracciones is open until 1am when I am going so surely if there is ques they wont be that big at night.
Groteslurf Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 ^ Well, i wouldn't be too sure about that : the people of Madrid like to visit PdA as from the late afternoon or early evening after work. It is often busier in the evening than during the rest of the day. Although the park was only opened till 9 pm during our visit, we noticed that a lot of people were still entering the park when we left the park at 7 pm ! The lines at the entrance were at time in any case bigger than the ones in the morning. So recommend to be there early and not count on light crowds during the evening.
coastermaniac1 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Posted June 23, 2007 Well I am just about to leave for the airport. Thanks for all your help.
coastermaniac1 Posted July 1, 2007 Author Posted July 1, 2007 Got back yesterday after a fantastic week. I have the Parque Warner PTR done here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=36982
