BiCoastal Kid Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 So, WeeWeeSlap has a challenge currently to design the best small-footprint Gravity Group LLC coaster, similar to Kemah Boardwalk's Boardwalk Bullet. I'm entering, obviously, and I decided I'm gonna do some updates since I'm pretty sure I'll be releasing it elsewhere despite it's mediocre shaping, overall. the track itself is done as much as it's going to be. I simply don't have time to go back and fix every kink, I really need to focus much more on supports. Granted, the track is still pretty smooth and fluid. There are small kinks along the track but OVERALL it's a very solid track. I'm working on supports right now. I'll try to get some more pictures posted soon, but for now here's the layout top-view.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 Here's a shot of the main lift support/drop structure. I basically have that done, just have some working to do under it. Nothing major , but still really tedious. I think the drop and the supports look really excellent, the whole thing looks really robust. Note how that twists? Still no wheel hits. 8-D
Eric_Smith Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 That is truly amazing! I just wish I could do something like that.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 Here's a better view. I still have TONS of supports to do, but I'm steadily getting them done. Twisty 4rlz
kennywood!007 Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Love it! I just got NL yesterday, and I don't think I'll ever be able to do this!
Steffen_Dk Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 ^Congratulations Btw. have you made all the supports by your self??
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 26, 2007 Author Posted May 26, 2007 No. I used auto supports but I'm HEAVILY editing them. Like, ahlf of the large lift structure was hand-built and right now I'm focusing on the main cross-over/mess area under the lift. Around/under where the first hill goes under the lift and there's all that other track there. Let's just say it's super fun......................
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 27, 2007 Author Posted May 27, 2007 Turn layer Cage is done. It's very very hefty. I believe this would work in real life, but would need seasonal repairs. Not that there is a lot going on.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 Station area is done. I didn't take a pic since it's rather difficult to get a good shot of what's going on since it's all so tight in that area. I only really have 3 major area to be done and I'll basically be finished.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Looks cool. That set of crossovers is cartoonish though.
BiCoastal Kid Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Simple station. One-side entry and exit. Think Giant Dipper @ Belmont. Walk up-loading, staff instructing each rider. Oh, and it goes under the station. I don't know if I mentioned that.
GURZU Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Fantastic ride!, so big, and the station is very cool. I like the download
Corkscrewy Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 You should totally get a video up. I want to so badly see this ride but have yet to purchase NL so. A video would be stupendous
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 10, 2007 Author Posted June 10, 2007 I may, idk. it wouldn't be anything special. I would just have to get fraps, ut there would be no editing basically.
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 And here's the download. No word on a video yet. Woody of Woodiness.nltrack You like the name, yes? screenshot of cheapness
Steffen_Dk Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Nothing bad to say about this coaster. I could not find one spot, where it was bumby, all the turns were great, and it had a nice constant speed. Really good coaster
jimbobcoaster Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Can you by any chance put it in the track packager because that is the only way my computer will download it for some reason. If you do, I promise to tell you what I think
BiCoastal Kid Posted June 18, 2007 Author Posted June 18, 2007 Here ya go. Woody of Woodiness.nlpack Trackpackage version.
