So, tonight I have been through a whole life's worth of panic in 4 hours. Here's the cut of the jib:

Was beginning to park for Disneyland Paris. Got all my forms and bookings.

Then, I realised my passport was nowhere in sight.

I stayed calm. Then I went with my parents and turned the house upside down. :?

For 4 hours.

Couldn't find it. I was on the verge of tears. I went out for a drive, stressed out to breaking point, bought 20 Lucky Strike (Nasty habit I know, but I was feeling really depressed) and drove for an hour comtemplating all that could have been.

I got back home, sat down and had one last think to where it could be. I hadn't touched my passport since I went to Tivoli Gardens last Christmas. I also hadn't touched the coat I took to Tivoli Gardens since I went there. Something clicked.

And sure enough, in the pocket of the coat was my passport. Normal service had resumed.

I didn't take my passort out of my coat because the day I got back from Tivoli, I got Appendicitis, and I spent Christmas Day in hospital on morphine after I had it removed. Good timing huh?

Anyone else want to share any stories of passport dramas like this?

And before I go to bed, for those who are travelling abroad within the next 2 weeks, I urge you all - don't lose your passports!!!!

I've never had to deal with my passport like that, but I know how frustrating it is to lose important stuff. You did the right thing by just sitting down and thinking. That's best way to remember.

Just so ya'll know.. here in the US they are phasing in a plan over the next five years or so to require a passport to get back from Canada.

So, if you want to hit canadian parks, and get home again, you will need a passport. No more drivers license, and birth certificate. So, I'd reccomend getting one _now_ if you plan to be doing that.. they are good for ten years.. and oh yeah.. the price is going up.. (of course)

It happend in Japan.

I had been up scince 4.30 am NZT to catch my flight to japan now whm you get there you have to go through customs then ollect your bags hen get your passport checked ageain. So I went through customs then got my bag and went to go out put my hand in my pocket to get my passport out and it wasnt there. So me and mr Mclean rushed around the bit to look for my passport holding the rest of the group up then we went back and another group (who was in japan for the same reason as us) found my passport and I got it back So it must of fell out of my pocket when I bent down to get my bag

Amazing coincidence! I had an emergency apendectomy on Christmas Day when I was in 6th grade!

Sad thing is, the next day, my family was going to go to Disney World. The only thing I could think about while being wheeled into the O.R. with a fever of a dollar-five was that my brother was going to hate me since he couldn't go to Disney!

Brian sez, and I still haven't been back to Disney!
