Coasterbp Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Hey Robb and Elissa! How are ya? Anywho, just a quick question. Do you get permission from the music artists to use their music in your DVDs? Is there a copyright that would prevent you from making money off of their songs? I asked this in the music thread, but didn't get an official response from you guys, so I'm just curious. I'm looking into doing something similar, and just want to know if there is something I need to look into before using someone elses songs for my benefit. Thanks for your help! ps. When are you guys coming to Orlando again?
SharkTums Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 I know we've addressed this in some other random thread but... From our Entertainment Lawyers: We are covered under the Fair Use rules. Basically, no one would buy our DVD's instead of buying a CD or downloading a track.
BarryH Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 ^^I never knew that. Now I can use music in my videos without sweating over it. Now I know...and knowing is half the battle! Gggggggggggggggiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjooooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
carolinacaniac Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Barry........ That was simply great! I don't know what it was about that (other than the fact that my friend Sean and I have been obsessed with those parodies of G.I. Joe for the past few weeks).
