Jeezus Juice Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 The published hours for the park this week are 9-11pm. Wednesday however has "extra magic hours". Does this mean that the park will be open extra hours in addition to the published closing time or do they kick out day guests a few hours early? I'm not a resort guest and I want to stay untill 11 but I'm not familiar with this system. If they do limit day guests I can go a different day, but wed would be the most convienent. thanks, Don
Cdn Mndbndr Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 Magic Hour is before the park opens and is for resort guests only. Robb explains a little bit about it here. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1757
Jeezus Juice Posted May 21, 2005 Author Posted May 21, 2005 ^ yes but this is not the morning EMH (formerly 'Magic Mornings') but the new program similer to the E-Ride nights they used to have. I know for the E-Ride nights you'd purchase a wristband and the queues would close to day guest at closing time. However, the new program is for resort guests only and operates on select nights at selected parks. My question is if it works like early entry where the selected time is outside of normal park hours or not. I've already checked the WDW site and mousesavers and I'm off to check mouseplanets WDW info as they are usually on top of these things. I just don't want to go on the only day of the week that the Magic Kingdom closes early. I'm doing all 4 parks in the same day and I need those extra hours! -Jooze
maliboomer Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 You're looking in the wrong place, a more WDW info site would be your best bet like www.wdwinfo.com and www.allearsnet.com This is what the DIS says, Extra Magic Hour/sRelated Links: Disney Theme Park hours On designated days, a Walt Disney World theme park will be open an hour early and three hours later for Disney Resort guests only and includes guests staying at the Walt Disney World Swan/Dolphin Hotels and the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort. ~Valid Resort I.D. and theme park ticket required~ Please note that dates are subject to change without notice ( http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/earlyentry.htm )
RCTfan Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 Extra Magic Hours works this way (I work at Epcot, I know): After the park closes (meaning you won't get kicked out), the rides are open 3 hours extra to those guests that are staying at the resorts. Meaning, if the park closes at 11, then from 11-2 will be the parks Extra Magic Hours. The Early Magic Hours work the same way, but just an hour before the park opens. You won't get kicked out of the park ever. You just can't ride anything unless you've got a wristband. There are set stations around the park where they will give you a wristband. All you've gotta do is show them a room key.
disneyfan1313 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 yep.. It is from 11-2am.. Just one addition - you need a room key for each member of your party that will be participating in the event.
RCTfan Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 ^ Meh, it really depends on who you get. Some people won't care how many keys you've got, as long as you show one. Some might want to see one from each person. You'd just have to go and try it. If it doesn't work, go to the next station. I'm sure they'd understand. They aren't TOO uptight usually, unless a manager or coordinator is there.
alpengeistdude321 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 I used them in my February visit. It was very convenient. I got on Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain with literally no wait.
Jeezus Juice Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 Thanks for all your help guys. I've been somewhat out of the Disney loop lately chasing credits all over the country. I hoping to take advantage of resort guest privileges next time for EE. This trip is more down and dirty with us hitting BGT, Cypress, Wild Adventures, WDW, and Uni/IOA plus flying in and out in 5 days. I'm glad that the MK is open late this week so we have some time at the end to hang out in the park after dark. Hopefully most of the resort guests wait untill closer to 11 before decending on the park. -Don
