thrillrideseeker Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 So I was thinking about making a website. Do any of you guys know how to go about making a website? I tried yahoo search but all of the things I read about you had to pay for. So I was wondering if there is like a way to make a website for free I really don't want to waste money on a website that I am just going to play around with Any help is much appericated! ~Matthew
Wes Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 There's like eight billion free web hosts. Try searching for "free web site".
WillMontu Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 There are tons of free web hosting services, just be aware that they will dump ads on all your pages (which isn't much fun). Geocities used to be one of the most popular (I had a web page hosted there back when all they required was a simple link back to Geocities)
robbalvey Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 And hey, TPR technically started out as a Geocities page! (anyone here remember that?) --Robb
WillMontu Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 ^ I remember that because of "Guess that neon coaster". Of course, back then Joyrides was updated every once in a while and I posted to RRC
bulldogmom Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I ran a website once, and I did it through Yahoo. It did cost, but I can't remember how much. I think the fee varies by how much stuff you're going to have on there (like renting space). I would recommend the book "Website Making for Dummies" (or something to that effect), which was very helpful.
