Vekoma Fan Boy Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I'd Like to introduce my first project, not first coaster, first project, I've made coasters in NL before, but more recently Ive been giving up because the results would suck so early on, so I'm going to take my time on this and get input from TPR members to make it my best coaster yet. The theme of the ride is an experience in a WWII Corsair taking down a Zero. Supports are 100% custom. Stats Height: 115 ft (35 m) Speed: 57 mph (92 kph) Length: n/a Max G's: 5.2 (Subject to change) Min G's: -1.0 (Subject to change) Inversions: 1 (Subject to change)
Steffen_Dk Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 .... minutes?? It sounds like a great idea. Looking forward to see the first pics

thrillrideseeker Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I like the ending... right off into the grass Great job though! Keep up the good work! ~Matthew
Calaway Park Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Very... "Non Gerstlauer." Look at the shaping of the inversions on real Eurofighters like Rage and Speed, your's is significantly off. Keep trying, you'll get it.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 ^Eh its my first REAL Gerstlauer, so not everything will be perfect, but i'll keep trying.
Angry_Gumball Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Looks like there's a bit too many on the supports. Take the loop as an example...they're usually not anywhere near as intense.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 ^You actually pull 5+ G's in the loop.
IwantRevenge Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 ^Thats bad... okay heres what to fix: 1. The Loop should be bigger and circular 2. The Supports should go around the loop, look at speed in oakwood 3. the top and bottom of the lift should have a tighter radius. 4 There should be less horizontal supports holding onto the lift from the main structure of the drop, 3 for both sides would be fine (one at the bottom, one in the middle and one at the top) Good luck with the project
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 ^I will take that into consideration for my next Eurofighter, because this is more-or-less supposed to be custom designed by the park it would be going to so it isn't going to be exactly "Gerstlauer-ish." (not that it is going to any park)
Calaway Park Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Looks like there's a bit too many on the supports. Take the loop as an example...they're usually not anywhere near as intense. Eurofighters are extremely intense if that's what you mean... But, as for the supports on the loop, they look like you got lazy with them. Look at the supports on real Eurofighters, apart from the lift- they look nothing like them. On the hill, the supports join right at the underside of the hill, like this on your ride: This isn't very realistic, the supports need an area to join at the track, and plus, it just looks bad. Your supports should look more like this: It's still not very Gerstlauer, but you catch my drift right? Feel honored, I made both those supports just to show you this, I don't do that often.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted April 4, 2007 Author Posted April 4, 2007 Who said I was done with anything yet?
Calaway Park Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 ^Thats bad... okay heres what to fix: 1. The Loop should be bigger and circular 2. It shouldn't have to be bigger, the loop now is off in shaping, but look at real Eurofighter loops, the train goes fast through them. The loops on Eurofighters are more like Schwarzkopf loops than anything, and a lot of Gerstlauer employees are from the Schwarzkopf company anyway. 2. Not all Gerstlauer Eurofighters do that, look at Rage! Gerstlauer supports vary, and now because of the tri-track, they are less needed. The tri-track is unavailable in NoLimits.. so he can't place it there, catch my logic? 3. Look at real Gerstlauer lift hills, what are you talking about? That hill is fairly accurate, look at Speed: No Limits. If the track had a tighter entry to the over vertical section, it would cause way too much airtime. It could be tightened slightly, but it is somewhat accurate in it's current form, enough that a dock isn't needed. Take a look at this picture of Speed: No Limits in it's No Limits form. I agree that the bottom radius of the drop should be tighter though, it looks to pull about 2-ish positives at the moment haha. Source: http://www.rcdb.com/ig2721.htm?picture=1 and www.gerstlauer-rides.com [Gerstlauer GmbH] 4. Speed: No Limits has five.. I agree that there are slightly too many, but he only needs to remove a few. And above, don't need to snap at me man, you never said you weren't done them, and I was just trying to help, don't take it as an offense...
Angry_Gumball Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 ^You actually pull 5+ G's in the loop. I'm meaning Intensive support usage...not G-forces.
