BarryH Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 R&E, if you don't mind me asking, how much was your airfare from LAX to Japan? I priced out flights from Ft. Myers to Japan for next October. Prices were at least $1,000+! Are there any discount carriers out there for Japan?
SharkTums Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 We flew direct on Korean Air (partners with Delta) for about $750 each round trip. We could have probably saved another $50 had we flown some slightly scarier airline with a stop over. I watched the flights for our 9/18 flight since April! We booked something in late June...all I can say is you have to look everyday as the fluctuate by about $200 in both directions! Elissa "Europe airfare was even worse!" Alvey
jarmor Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 hey its me again . I "thought" I had my ticket but I was advised to do the same thing you are doing. I had a ticket for like 985.00 leaving from charlotte NC, but was told to "shop around. What is a good website to use. I use my student websites at www.statravel.com and www.studentuniverse.com and the typical www.expedia.com
disneyfan1313 Posted May 20, 2005 Posted May 20, 2005 Ugh.. you guys flew Korean also?!?!?! What an interesting experience.. We went through a consolidator (also called a bucket fare shop) and got the LAX-NRT segment for around $540 R/T. The downside is we didn't get frequent flyer miles due to the fare class. We then booked the MCO-LAX segment separately. Barry - Take a look at flying out of MCO - I see roundtrip fares MCO-NRT pretty frequently in the sub-750 range. Sign up for travelocitys fare watcher and you can see how much it fluctuates.
