xascher Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Hey everyone, I have a proposition for those of you with RCT 3, I have created a tiny 32x30 unit workbench, and I want to see how good you are at making a park, not just a coaster. So accept the challenge, by posting so below. Rules- 1) RCT 3 Only, no expansions. 2) Custom scenery is NOT neccecary, and only allowed for supports, Steelworx and Mouseworx ONLY 3) No hack cheats 4) You must stay within budget at all times. 5) Park must have at least- 1 Coaster 1 Kiddie Ride 1 Junior Ride 2 Flat Rides Grades- (Your park will be rated as followes) 1) Scenery, (You do not need themes, but don't be lazy) 20 Pts 2) Rollercoaster uniqueness, (Do something different) 20 Pts 3) Use of space, (Underground, towers etc.) 10 Pts 4) Details (Detailed buildings etc.) 25 Pts 5) Overall look of park 25 Pts Everyone who scores above 85, will go onto a popular vote, where the winner will be chosen Please post your park by Dec 25th This is a budgeted contest, so your park will take longer than usuall with the price factor in play, but acheiving in game awards will help you. Please ask any questions you may have about the contest Challenge.dat The Workbench
DATman Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I'm in... I won't be using custom scenery, but I'll do my best with what I have. I'm a little confused... Where do I save it on my computer?
Tanks4me05 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 ^If I remember correctly, you either save it to My Documents/RCT3/Parks, My Documents/RCT3/Scenarios, or My Documents/RCT3/Start New Scenarios. Personally, I really wish the Expansion Packs would be allowed. I can do so much more with all those extra rides and scenery packs. I always felt just plain Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 seemed a little limited in terms of rides and scenery.
coasterdude5 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I would enter this if expansions were allowed, and the money requirement is, IMO, kinda pointless because cheats are pretty easy. But other than that it sounds like an interesting contest.
DATman Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I can't do it if it is no expansions as well...
thomas2 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I don't get it. Are we supposed to make this in Sandbox mode or in Custom scenery mode??
xascher Posted December 3, 2006 Author Posted December 3, 2006 Personally, I really wish the Expansion Packs would be allowed. I can do so much more with all those extra rides and scenery packs. I always felt just plain Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 seemed a little limited in terms of rides and scenery. I would allow it, but I don't have the games anymore. Have the disks, Computer got nuked, now the disks don't work XX; PS: Play it on the scenario I gave you. Also people PLEASE don't hog the custom scenery if you use it... infact. please only use custom scenery for supports... Ok, figured the Custom Scenery could use some clarifacation. You won't be deducted points for using scaffolding items for walls and such, but get carried away and you WILL be deducted, up to 40 full Pts!
the sound Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I like makeing small parks, but since there are n expansion packs allowed, i can't enter. But its a cool competition.
xascher Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 ACK!!! people besides, using the extended coasters can take away the meaning of the compettition....
