will maverick be ready by this summer>?>?

i am planing on going to cp this summer ( probaly late julyish) do you think maverick will be open??? and how crowded will the park probably be??

Cedar Fair changed their minds and are now moving Maverick to Canadas Wonderland.

 

So sorry but it won't even be there.

^Mmh I heard they had serious problems with it and Cedar Point is going to demolishe the entire ride!

^ Worse then that. With the debt Cedar Fair picked up with Paramount, they're not even sure there will be enough cash on hand to open Cedar Point at all for the season.

 

Could be 2008 before Cedar Point opens again.

Well, they're moving so slowly right now, I doubt that they'll even have the track put together by next July. Seriously, slowest construction ever.

Joking aside, the ride is pretty much finished as of today, the stators are installed, the trackwork is done, all that's left is finishing the electrical, if that hasn't been finished already, getting the trains, finishing the theming, and testing.

So is Magnum, they're moving Magnum over to the Maverick Site and using Maverick as footers.

 

BTW, barring any major problems it will be ready for opening day. Check out our construction pix and you'll see that it's really far along.
