A bunch of my friends and I will be going to PKI on Saturday (The 28th) to get some last rides in before the offseason. I'll be sporting my super-warm TPR hoodie and anyone else who may be going is welcome to say hello to me. I won't bite, promise We'll be getting there around 1:00 (ish) and staying until whenever.

My gf and I are going to get there around 4 P.M. or so, and stay for at least part of Fear Fest, depending on how cold we get. I'd be totally down for meeting up.

Okay, the whole gang's meeting at my house (except for whomever wants to meet us at the park...) I've arranged a possible walkup the exit ride on the beast at night, a rare treat if you've never done it, and it should be a good time. We should be at the park around 1:00. PM me soon if you want to meet up and be part of this.

It's just too freaking cold and windy for me..... although we're still debating whether to go over tomorrow for a little while or not.

It actually turned out to be OK. The wind died down. It wasn't too cold, provided that one was dressed appropriately.

A *lot* of rides were shut down today due to the winds. Even after the winds died down a lot of the rides did not reopen.

^ I found out about why the train was still closed! My friend called me and told me the whole story:

A tree blew over onto the train tracks, forcing them to evacuate the train. Because of this, they also closed down the Beast to proactively prevent a similar fate, as a tree falling on the track would cause a horrible accident. They instructed the Beast crew to take all three trains off and ont to side track, meaning that they had no intenion of reopening the ride, as before they could, they would need the entire track to be walked to check for sticks and branches affecting the track. Adventure Express was down due to a hung train, which happens more often than one would think, apparently, according to my source close to the operation of that ride. Drop Zone, Face/Off, X-Treme Skyflyer, and SlingShot were all closed due to high winds. Drop Zone, X-Treme Skyflyer and Sling Shot I know for a fact opened later in the evening. Not sure about Face/Off. Son of Beast was of course also still closed, but that's understandable.

Besides this, the 10 of us that went all seemed to have a great time. We had a few good rides on Racer, a couple good ones of Flight of Fear, and a wicked back seat ride on Top Gun. Italian Job: Stunt Track the effects were only half working for our ride, and we didn't get any fire, which was dissapointing, as we were looking forward to the warmth. Vortex's line was unbelievably long all day, most likely due to the lack of other rides open, but the fearfest attraction lines were surprisingly short, with us only waiting an hour each for the asylum and the circus clown one, which was by far the best one. All in all once the wind died down it wasn't very cold, and we had a great night.

We went this morning, although I did not realize until we got into the parking lot that they didn't open until 11. WTF? I called my hubby who works in the cash control office and asked him why he didn't tell me, being that it was about 10:08 and I not only had Sammi with me, but her friend Olivia too. He said "Oh, I thought you knew"!

When the rope dropped at 11 the place was completely empty and the girls wanted to ride the Vortex. I was a little concerned it might be too cold for Vortex to be open, but it was and I let the girls (both 8 and just tall enough to ride this year) go it alone, as Vortex is not my favorite ride. After that we did Beast twice (still so empty you could just stay on the ride), several of the flat rides and the girls did Adventure Express and Racer. The line for Delirium was the shortest I had seen ever, so I asked the kids if they would mind if I went. I was on in two cycles, but I have to say that ride is a very slow load and unload which explains why the line is always so long.

By the time we hit Nick Central after lunch, the crowd was pretty heavy and we made a quick circuit just so the girls could get the free "treats" being given out. When we left I was STUNNED to find the Season Pass processing line (last day to get free parking pass for next season) was just huge. It stretched all the way across the park's front entrance. It had to be at 1+ hour long wait.

Glad I got one last trip in.... with no Winterfest to look forward too it will be a long winter.........
