ginzo
I've been reading this pretty good book called "Harry G. Traver Legends of Terror" by an ACE founding member named Richard Munch. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0935408029?v=glance Does anyone know if Richard Munch is really his name? Who would name their son Dick Munch?
robbalvey
^ Yes it really is true. That is the guy who founded ACE back in the last 1970s. Funny story was we ran into the guy at Darien Lake a few years ago, and he had some "interesting" stories about ACE and based on how the club is now he said he wants nothing to do with it anymore. Kind of sad, really. --Robb
Calaway Park
Does he have a son that writes Childrens books? Robert Munch: Jillian Jiggs and the Wonderful Pigs Anyway, Munch is a fitting name considering the condition of ACE today...

That name reminds me of an old Beavis and Butthead episode where Beavis assumed the name Rod Munch so he can scam free medical care at a hospital. This strategy, of course, backfires on him. Munch actually did a good job with that book. The old photos are excellent. It's too bad it sells for fricken' $100. My local library is going to want it back sooner or later. I think you've got your Canadian children's books and their authors confused. Robert Munsch (I assume this is who you're referring to--note the "s" in the spelling) did write a book called "Pigs". He also wrote a book with a character named Jillian ("Ribbon Rescue"), but nothing called "Jillian Jiggs and the Wonderful Pigs." How do I know this? I've got almost all of Robert Munsch's titles. Children love them. There is a book called "The Wonderful Pigs of Jillian Jiggs," by Phoebe Gilman.
CoasterFanatic
True. ACE was actually founded by a group of 3 or so guys, but Richard is member #1. He is still somewhat active in the club but don't look for him to attend a bunch of events. Of course, if you go to PPP, you just might see him on the bumper cars. steel
Funny you should mention him. We met him at CoasterCon XXVIII. He was really, really nice.
