CoasterFanatic Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Rick (San Jose's own CoasterPalooza) was about 30 minutes away from my home for the past week. After a couple failed attempts to meet up, he and the crew came down to check out the band in Toronto on Saturday night. I planned on getting to Washington, PA the next day to see him work the Pony League championship game, but ended sleeping. I did, however, manage to catch half an inning Time to hop on the bikes and head to Washington, PA. Rick was kind of enough to give us a game ball from the Championship Game. Autographed by the whole crew to boot. I will have to put it with the collection. In the neighborhood, so we stopped by Catrina's aunt's house for some grub. The bikes got a pretty good soaking. Another example in a long line of horrible self portraits. My friend and I pulled off the road for a minute after riding through a hellacious storm. Puerto Rico took home the trophy. Made it to the game. TPR's own Rick behind the plate.
Coaster Palooza Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Hey Ted, Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Sunday was a bit of a blur for me. It was a long flight with a tremendous headache. I have been trying to re-size my photos (600) to put them into trip reports. It was great seeing you on Friday (Catrina too!) and Saturday. I thought you might get hit a little by the rain. We saw it from inside TGIFridays and then on the whole trip to the Steelers game. Thanks for putting the baseball in your collection! Here is the last out of the game. A called strike three. It is from the Pony World Series website. www.ponyworldseries.com I don't think the batter liked it too much!
CoasterFanatic Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 I saw that picture and thought it was hysterical. So I have done a little little photoshop in his honor. If he didn't like it, maybe he should do a little better job protecting the plate with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the top of the 7th. Especially when he is the tying run! No you can't have a pony .... trophy.
ParkTrips Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Kill the ump!! <<-- umpired Little League for 7 years, retiring last year
Coaster Palooza Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 ^^Nice photoshop skills Ted. You won't believe this, but we were actually on the same flight as they were from Pittsburgh to Phoenix. Our seats were behind the coach's seats. All three of them sat right in front of us. It was a long trip! We also saw the Puerto Rican team checking in when we checked in. Talk about a tale of two teams. I think the flight to Puerto Rico was a little more exciting than our flight. ^Retiring at the age of 20? How come? You don't have to do Little League. There is always High School, College, etc.
ParkTrips Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I know, I didn't have time this summer, I will probably try to work up to high school and such once I get out of school, I enjoy umpiring.
mcjaco Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I enjoy playing and still complaining at umps! What a coincidence! I think I'll complain at you, Joe!
PhishyBrewer Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Screw those damn kids... how was the Steelers game Rick?
Coaster Palooza Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 The Steelers game was awesome. I will be posting the TR for Gettysburg and seeing Ted today. Hopefully I can get to the Championship game and Steelers game today too. This is taking forever!
