niiicolaaah Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 This is the third year in a row I've gone to the Erie County Fair. The midway is done by Strates Shows; it's not that spectacular, but it does have a few fun rides such as a Top Spin, Orbiter, Starship 2000, and other spin-and-spew type flats. The fair itself is huge, and has many shows, animal exhibits, and displays like the woodcarvers, Christmas village, and Native American village. We spent almost 7 hours there and still did not see everything we wanted to! We love kettle corn. This may have been our last fair together ever... awww! Oh well. Team Fair rules. Best way to end the day: KETTLE CORN!!!!! No way in hell will I ever ride one of these. The Orbiter: my favorite ride at the fair. Anybody know the name/manufacturer of this ride? Here's a powered kiddy that isn't in the process of being valleyed by a bunch of fat Americans. Squirrel cages in the background! Nobody would ride with me so I skipped it. SBF spinning somethingorother. Back to the rides area. Little kids on tractors, awwww! While we were eating we had our first and only MULLET SIGHTING!!! The aftermath. I kind of just ripped it to shreds. Ashly and I were not quite sure how to attack this half-a-chicken. Lunch/dinner time! I love bunnies! Pretty rooster. These sheep were getting ready to do their afternoon aerobics. KKK sheep!!! Hi Joey and Robb! Whereas I get eaten by a lion. :'( Kelly and Ashly get into the Fair spirit. *sings Mario theme song* Awww! Cute! This was in the children's petting zoo area. Donkey credit #2! Wisdom Tornado... so much fun. Fire ball... no thanks The Sea Ray had some interesting theming. It had cool cars too, but the ride itself was extremely lame. New for 2006: a dark ride with cool looking exterior The fun house, now with 50% broken tricks! They had an Enterprise, but we did not ride. When they were testing it, it got stuck about halfway off the ground. Not sure if that's normal. I rode a Ferris Wheel to get this shot. Just for you, TPR. Now this is what you've been waiting to see! The rides! This dude has no eyeballs There was a cool looking haunted house for additional charge... Ashly was afraid of the giant popcorn. This kind of reminds me of Blackpool for some reason... There's the North Pole... This guy had the whitest socks and shoes we'd ever seen! You couldn't tell where the shoes ended and the socks began! There were real reindeer there, not looking too happy to be in the 80? heat Next, we went to the Christmas village! The reindeer was pulling Santa out of the chimney. I pose with the sketchy midway ATM. No, I didn't actually use it. Hi Derek! I do NOT like horses. Their huge heads freak me out! Hey, I'm a cow dude, check out my awesome fuzzy ears! Donkey credit #1! Milo was in a pretty small cage, but it was nice and clean.
viking86 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Nice pictures! Looks like you had alot of fun at the fair. Those popcorn thingys are huge btw!! Did you eat all of it? Â Anybody know the name/manufacturer of this ride? Â I belive this is the ride youre looking for.
TheGreatOne Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Glad to see you found a mullet. It wouldn't be a fair in the Great Lakes-Midwest region without a mullet. It would be like having a fair without Funnel Cakes and Elephant Ears.
chavslayer Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Id love to ride a Zipper but I dont think there are any in the UK.
