Jordan Shankman Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Truely one of THE best horror films ever made. VERY few horror movies actually scare me...this one did. Go see it! ***** out of *****
alpengeistdude321 Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 Is it really based on a true story?
Jordan Shankman Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 I'm pretty sure the shooting and what not was...but I don't think any of what happened to the people that moved in is actually based on fact.
Mind Eraser Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I saw a TV special on Amityville a few months ago. Basically, the family fabricated all of those horror stories (not like I needed a TV show to tell me that ) -kip-
shepp Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 ^ God, next you'll tell me there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction. Is nothing sacred??
Jordan Shankman Posted April 16, 2005 Author Posted April 16, 2005 I have pictures from the actual killings... WARNING: THESE ARE PICTURES OF REAL MURDERS http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo10.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/sfogfreak/ogrish-dot-com-amityville-crime-scene-photo2.jpg
Movieguy Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 I always thought that a remake of this film had potential to be good, because I didn't care much for the original film at all. I know it had a following, but to me it just didn't hold a candle to the original Chainsaw or Dawn of The Dead.
memphish Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 ^^Those pics are actually from www.amityvillemurders.com/ Everything you want to know about the murders/books/movies is there. The family the books and movies are based on have admitted to making up most of what they claimed happened for money. Personally I would rather them make a NC-17 full recreation of the murders. That story is much better anyway.

Form the Denton (TX) Record Chronicle review: "Why take an old, ugly lump of cheese and make it into a bigger, uglier, smellier lump of cheese?"
SFMMXcoaster Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 How did he shoot off a shotgun on the first victim, without the other 5 waking up.
rollercoaster_fan_1 Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 I can not stand those type of occureneces...BASED ON A TRUE STORY...
Rugged One Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 I just checked this one out this evening. It was fairly good. I don't usually get startled easily during flicks but this one has some moments that made me jump.
