Alton Towers + UK parks 2007

Hello!

 

Just wondering if anyone knew what was happening at Alton or any of the UK parks for 2007?

 

I have heard some rumour that Thorpe is getting a floorless, but i think it may be too late in the season to build for 2007?

 

I personally would love to see a good floorless in the Uk - They are by far my favorite steel coaster design and Kraken was one of the best coaster i have rode.

 

I also would like to see more woodies in the uk parks for variety and hope Alton gets theirs soon!

 

What would you like to see at the major uk parks?

It's pretty much confirmed that Alton will not be getting a major new ride in 2007 - ie. not a coaster or water ride etc. Whether there'll be a new flat or kiddie/family attraction, I don't know. Apparently 2008 will see something 'major' coming to the park, although the woodie is not currently part of the park's future plans.

 

I don't think Thorpe are planning another major coaster until 2008/9, although that's not definite. 2007 sees the return of Flying Fish though, a small powered family coaster that used to be where Stealth is. And, although it's rumoured every year, it seems a retheme / revamp of X No Way Out is on the cards. This will include making the trains run forwards again.

 

Something's going on at Blackpool at 2007, and there are rumours of a coaster, but no one really knows what's happening.

Drayton aren't getting anything big.

Chessington are opening a hotel.

Oakwood won't be getting anything big either.

I love this park and how all of their rides intwertwine with the surroundings to make it look "shorter" than it really is!

 

i was hoping they could get another looper or possibly a shuttle?

Blackpool is pretty much confirmed to be getting a WaterCoaster from Mack to replace the Log Flume.
