Chaddyboy Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Did anyone besides me ever check out the website for Timber Falls in the Wisconsin Dells? A couple years ago they built the intense Avalanche roller coaster. Avalanche is a woodie, but they have a picture of Desperado, a steel coaster, on their site. Who do they think they're fooling with this? The photo is on the front page. http://www.timberfallspark.com/
Calvin Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Wow, that's Desperado. Weird. The funny thing is, Avalanche is way better than Desperado. DESPERADO The case FOR -Good drop -Good helix The case AGAINST -No airtime -Beats up your innards -Boring turns -Sucks AVALANCHE The case FOR: -Is just that awesome -Has cute little trains The case AGAINST: -What, you expect there to be something here? But yeah, that's kind of odd.
Electerik Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 ^ Yay, Desperado! Oh wait...you don't like it. Well, I do. Although, it has been, like, 8 years since I've ridden it. There was most certainly airtime back then, though, I can tell you that. Got attacked by the contents of a guy-in-front-of-me's wallet on that ride. It's also the ride that reaffirmed and rekindled my interest in roller coasters after the sad and premature deaths of Revolution and Colossus had sort of put me off (and before I'd travelled much, obviously). And it looks great! (In a weird Arrow way.)
coaster_maniac Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I actually just rode Avalanche for the first time yesterday! It was a suprisingly good coaster!
Calvin Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Desperado isn't that bad (I was exaggerating its faults), and it does look pretty cool when you're driving down the hill towards it. But last time I was there (last March) it had no airtime besides the first drop. Mostly because it was braked to death (and then you crawwlllll towards the helix, leaning 45 degrees to the right). But for some reason it just had no airtime, not even on the airtime hills (up...down...up...down...up...)
easytoremember Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I actually just rode Avalanche for the first time yesterday! It was a suprisingly good coaster! Mabey thats why it is rated in the top 10 on mitch's poll. Or mabey I am wrong.
