Jon Sabo Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 LONDON (AP) - Floyd Landis' stunning Tour de France victory just four days earlier was thrown into question Thursday when his team said he tested positive for high levels of testosterone during the race. Rest of Story & Credit link: http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5822020?FSO1&ATT=HCP>1=8393 I love cycling and actually enter racing events in Hawaii and FL. I am a bit disturbed by all of the drug scandals that occur within the sport. It quite possibly is the sport that has the highest percentage of "positive" results and the UCI is doing all it can to really grab hold of securing more strict procedures in its testing policy. Any cycling fans out there care to comment? Or, just a general comment about the recent events that occured.
TheArchfiend Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Do people who blood-dope realize that will get detected in the tests after the conclusion of the race? Is it asking too much to stay clean? And he obvioulsy must have been doping his blood with, white blood cells or testosterone or whatever, after the race began as he would have been kicked out with the others that tested positive before day 1 of the race. This guy went from a remarkable accomplishment story to a no-good cheater in days. Now what happens? The second place guy gets the title after all the celebrations are already over? What a joke. This guy ruined what should have been a great day for a deserving winner.
CoasterFanatic Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Wow! What a surprise. They are all juiced. People talk about football and baseball constantly, but you will never find a bigger group of superhumans than in the world of cycling. For how rampant it is, they should just legalize blood doping. At least the playing field would be level.
goleafsgo Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 lol. the french are a bunch of jerks who are pissed because they cant win their own race, so they are accusing everyone of winning. this happened with lance too.
TheArchfiend Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 ^ Uhh... yeah. When you test positive you aren't accussing, you are stating a fact. Lance was accused. This jabroni, Floyd Landis, was caught red handed. No French conspiracy there.
