steel Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 ^Congrats! I just got my 100th credit at Dorney Park. It doesn't actually feel much different...
easytoremember Posted August 5, 2006 Author Posted August 5, 2006 OK, here is day two at mount olympus and timber falls. We stopped at McDonalds for lunch before going to any parks. After we ate we headed to timber falls. All the park is is a roller coaster, a log ride, bumper boats, and a mini golf course. We bought our tickets for the roller coaster and walked straight on. Avalanche is an incredible ride. It doesn't look like much, but man does it pack a punch. There is tons of airtime throughout, and there are some pretty cool highly banked turns. I absolutly loved this ride even though I only got to ride it once. It takes the number three spot in my top ten wood, behind voyage and hades. After timber falls we headed to Mt. Olympus. First, once we got into the park we headed to our favorite little woodie, Cyclops. The airtime was scary good. Then we headed over to atlantis, since we had not gotten the credit the day before, but we found the line too long, so we did opa instead. After Opa we headed to hades. The line was at the bottom of the stairs, and only took about 20 minutes. We got to the station and got in line for the second to the last row which was the shortest. Then this Romanian ride op lady came up to us and said we had to the front. I asked if we could just wait for the row since it was our favorite row and it was the shortest row so we were not blocking people from getting to the other rows. She said no, we had to make our way to the front. That was nearly impossible since there was a huge crowd of people near the middle of the station blocking us from getting to the front. I showed her this and she said do it anyways. We kept on arguing that it would not make since to do that, but she insisted, so we moved up a few rows, and when she wasn't looking we moved back to the row we were in, and she didn't say anything. I don't know, I just hate ride ops that make up their own rules and try to enforce them on you, even if they don't make since. Oh well. Anyways, Hades was better than the first time I rode it. There was a little more airtime on some of the hills, and the tunnel was still very disorienting. Next we got in line for medusa's drop, which are some cool looking go carts. Suposidly you can get go cart airtime, but we couldn't even get close. Oh well. Next we did the water park. We thought it was kinda small, but what we didn't relise until after we left was that there was the biggest part of the outdoor water park behind the indoor water park. The water park was moderatly fun, but was a great way to cool off since it was really hot. Next we did Cyclops about five more times with no wait. then we did hades twice. After hades we ate dinner. After that it was starting to get dark, so we got in line for Posidon, which are cool go carts because they go under a small lake. These were much better than medusa's drop. After this it was dark, so we got in line for hades for a night ride. This was really good at night, and I got my best ride out of the five I got overall. We were going to get back in line for hades, but they closed off the line, so we did cyclops three more times. Overall the park was really fun, and we had a great time. Edit-Sorry for the two pictures that are flipped sideways. I forgot to rotate them. Cyclopsed I hate this hose. It gets you soaked, and it has no theming what so ever. Its just a plain old hose. This is one of the main reasons why it is my least favorite "roller coaster". That and the fact that it takes like ten minutes to finish this stupid ride. I guess its a credit. It sorta looks like one, but yet probobly should not be one. This ride gets you wet. And I mean wet. Like the kind of wet you usually don't want to get unless you want a credit really bad. Blur shot number three Yay disco, I guess Why can't I get go cart air time? WHY? Here is where I will get go cart airtime It makes my tummy hurt just thinking about the airtime I am not getting right now and now we are back at mount olympus Here is the imber falls sign. My grandma took this picture. This is the timber falls sign. Notice how I got all of the letters of the sign in the picture. and here is a picture of avalanche. AWESOME Avalanche looks cool Here we are at a really cool McDonalds.
easytoremember Posted August 5, 2006 Author Posted August 5, 2006 On to the final leg of our trip!!! Beech bend is a nice little park with a fairly nice collection of flats, and a couple small coasters. Oh ya, and this little thing called the rumbler. Apperently its pretty good, but I will be the judge of that. (please note that I am obviously kidding.) So when we arive, we decide to head for spinning mouse #3. It is my least favorite of the three, because it is trimmed in every spot possibly. You almost stop right before the spinning starts. Oh well. Dragon kiddie credit! It has a banked lift hill, which is very annoying. Next we rode the death machine of death. Oh I mean Pinfari Looping Star. Owwwwwyyyy! That thing is bad. Rumbler time! No wait for back row. This is a fun ride. It is somewhat lacking in airtime,(ok, not lacking, but its just not comparable to say, Voyage.) but it made up for it in its out of control feeling, and extremely twisted layout. Oh, which reminds me. It had a very interesting description in the AAA book. It says "the most twisted coaster in at least seven states!" We rode most of the major flats, including SCAT 2. We found out the answer to the old question, What happened to SCAT 1? The Op said it was because it had two cages. That... kinda makes sense. Any way, while riding the Spinny space ship of justice, my camera flew out of my pocket it took five minutes to lift the seat and get it out. Your lucky too even be seeing these pictures. We did mini golf... ya. ITS OVER! Ahh I CAN'T BREATH!!! Weird loggy flume thing. Empty station = fun WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! These little hops are everywhere. I prefer Philly tobbogans. I like the trains. I dont know those people though. Anyway, Rumbler....ed Ahhh, thats what I'm talkin 'bout. Ahhh, GCI refreshment. Not as refreshing as some things I know......(Flashback to holiday world) It hurts! It hurts! OH NO!!! aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! (death) Hooray banked lift hill kiddie credit! Boo scary 2x4 footers... First up, spinny mouse #3!! This is the biggest sign they had. This is the road you drive down to get there.
Golfie Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 You said that Demon is NOT rough... WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?? My ears were sore from that double corkscrew for days after riding it -.-;
mr_teisco_delrey Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 What day of the week did you go to Beech Bend? I could handle a day of continuous faux ERT on the Rumbler . I love that coaster.
mr_teisco_delrey Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 You said that Demon is NOT rough... WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?? My ears were sore from that double corkscrew for days after riding it -.-; I remember when the Demon was called Turn of the Century. Instead of the loops, there were hills. Lord help you if you had sunburned shoulders. That, or osteoporosis in you shoulders. Ouch!! Whizzer was my favorite ride growing up. The turn at the bottom of the second hill kicked butt.
easytoremember Posted August 6, 2006 Author Posted August 6, 2006 We went on a tuesday. Empty park =yay.
