St.LouisBOI Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I won't post a long trip report because it would just be too long so I'll just post the pictures and I'll evaluate the coasters and rides. Hope you enjoy! * In order I rode them...7/19 - Gwazi (Lion)...It was a good length wooden coaster but it was kinda rough and had some weird moments throughout the track. I think that the Boss is better. I did like the dueling track effect which made for some good headchopper effects. 6.5/10 - Sheikra...The line was pretty long and when I got to the loading station a storm came in which closed down the coaster for about 2 hours and then it finally opened back up. I sat in the back row and the coaster was very intense. I wasn't expecting much from the start so in the end, I wasn't really disappointed with anything besides the splash-down which really didn't do anything for the coaster except adding a nice splash zone for the guests below. 9/10 Due to the storms half of the day, my and my family left and we got rain checks. We came back the next day. * 7/20... - Montu... The coaster was very forceful and long, there were some rough bits here and there but it certainly didn't make the ride bad. I loved how the coaster weaved above and underground. Great themeing! 8.5/10 - Rhino Rally...I wasn't really expecting much from this but I actually really enjoyed it. It was fun and didn't get tiring at all...I liked the last bit with the river. Needs more animals out though. 7/10 - Sandstorm...The typical Scrambler ride except that it goes high and it tilts. This one made me fairly dizzy. 3/10 - Scorpion... This coaster is very small and compact and was very short. The loop was fun though. Pretty smooth for a small coaster. 5.5/10 - The Pheonix... This ride was very uncomfortable and the restraints were locked down way too hard. I didn't really like it. Pirate Ships are better. 1/10 - Cheetah Chase... This was my 1st wild mouse coaster and it was very fun. Not too thrilling but still fun and is worth a laugh and a nice breeze. 5/10 - Pirates 4D... This show was very amusing and followed the whole Pirates of the Caribbean theme. A bit too packed but it shocked me at some parts. Beware, you will get wet! Great way to escape the heat too. 6/10 - Sheikra...I got a no wait exit entry ticket and decided to use it on Sheikra because it was easily the longest line in the whole park. When I got to the station more storms came and it poured and yet again the ride shut down for about 20-30 min. at the most. Again I was sitting in the back row. I tried taking my flip flops off but I was told by a ride-op that shoes are required on Sheikra so I put them back on. When we were exiting the station but waiting for the 1st car to drop, my left flip flip fell off onto the standing platform on the car and I waved my hands for a ride-op to pick it up. Well, this girl came and she said that she couldn't go on the platform even thought it was like 2 feet away from her. From there, I knew I was screwed. I just couldn't reach the platform from the seat. When we went down the 1st drop, my flip flop flew up and hit me in the head and I tried to catch it but it flew up past me. I was very disappointed because those were only 2 days old and the ride-ops did nothing to stop the coaster when I waved my hands. Well, when we came back to the station I thought that I was out my left flip flop...BUT I looked under and behind my seat and there was my flip flop, just sitting there like it never fell off the car. I'm still confused as hell as how it stayed on the car the whole time but I'm damn happy that gravity was with me. 8.5/10 (because the videos were down due to darkness from the storm) - Kumba... This ride is everything a coaster should be, it had tunnels and headchoppers and loops and corkscrews and more! Whew, what a rush. This was my fav. coaster at BGA. It's just simply amazing! 10/10 - Congo River Rapids... I didn't even get wet on this ride at all, maybe a few spots here and there but when I got off, I was dry and not cold. 5/10 (great themeing) BGA is a very beautiful park and I didn't get to experience everything so I'd expect myself to be visiting again soon. Now on to the photos... Bye Bye Sun....THE END and again thanks for reading. whoa, the sun is bright! BUT...it's all good because I know how to fly a broom... WHAT!? I get locked up just for that? What kind of people do this!? ...no comment... Why no gun climbing? Some people just don't know how to have fun. No way! I didn't know that Australia has dragons. Awesome! I found Sharktums. Psh, screw Nemo! I want one of these! I wonder what I could find in there...? Where's the waterslide? ooo...there's Jack Sparrow! ...but this aint the Caribbean. Wow! Never had one of those. OMG...what else are ya hiding up under that pink hat of yours? This dude er...person creeped me out...he/she was following me throught the whole damn store. I bet mine is longer than yours! Coming in 2007...Jaws:The Ride Get wet with what...? Get your big ass head outta the way, you're blocking out the Kumba sign! Kumba through a net! Dew the Kumba Where's Captain Jack Sparrow? Ugh...Vanna White bores me. Just pay attention to the jeep, she's only playing Vanna White to model it out. How am I driving? Call 1-800-drivsafe mommy, look what I found. RAWR! Here we are again without the strange guy to the far left...Go Cardinals! OMFG! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!...nevermind, those girls will block all the water from me. this looks good enough to eat...where's wonka when you need him? there are a couple of things missing here, guess what they are... ...nah, this is more like a moan ...now this makes me want to giggle like a little girl... this makes me tired... Who wants to play some Croquette? Let's all stare at the Gwazi station now...ok, we're done. At the entrance!...pay no attention to the guy on the far left. Now I know for a fact that nobody was trying to take a picture of that green van back there....oh, me and my younger bro (im the one smiling) WTF? I was taking a picture of Montu, not them! By the way, that's my mom and older sis. Oh, just a bunch of steel erected into the sky. We're finally here! Hmmm...I wonder what would happen if I just gently put my hand in the water down there... Umm...wow, a bird... Yay, we're going across Tampa Bay. "Giant Spiders on a Florida Welcome Center Ceiling" Coming Soon to a Theater near you. Oh, so this is where I am...Me, my older sis, my younger brother, and my other younger brother. Where the hell am I now? Can anyone tell me what this means?
dandaman Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 ^It's a subtle hint that BGT is getting "ROAR!" for next year. Thanks for the pics.
coasterfreak11 Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 It looks like you had a great time. I love your pictures. That hat is awesome! I'm glad you could get to another park besides SFSTL!
St.LouisBOI Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 ^ Yeah, and the fact that they took the time to cover up the R and make it a P for Spicy, but I guess they thought WRAR instead of WRAP fit the Busch Gardens theme very well considering that it was just across the street from BGA. Matt, I'm sure as hell happy to be going somewhere else besides SFSTL. Hah.
St.LouisBOI Posted July 25, 2006 Author Posted July 25, 2006 I forgot to include my on-ride photo of Sheikra... woohoo...
DerekRx Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Sounds kinda like my friend's girlfriend's daughter who lost her flip flop on Sheikra. Coincidentally, they sell flip flops in the gift shop. Hmmmm... If you had an exit pass for Sheikra, wouldn't you notice the approaching storms and not get in line until after they passed, seeing how you didn't have to wait??

Well yeah, but since it IS an exit pass, we went up through the exit and we were turned back to go the regular way but through some kind of fast-lane queue which delayed us about 5 or 6 cars. Ugh...there weren't even any dark clouds around, it just started raining. Anyways, it sucked to wait.
Jon Sabo Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I love that background effect on the photo-op. Wonder if the BGE Griffon style will be similar..hmm Awesome photos and report!
