Jon Sabo Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Cedar Fair won’t build park in China SANDUSKY — Cedar Fair LP, which owns Cedar Point and 11 other amusement parks, said yesterday that it has no plans to build a theme park in China, despite a published report to the contrary. Spokesman Stacy Frole said CBS Inc. had an deal with Tianjin, China, for a $625 million theme park that would become part of CBS’ Paramount Parks chain. But when Cedar Fair took over the Paramount firm, it rejected several projects, including that one. A Reuters story yesterday said the project was ongoing. The local firm also rejected a plan to invest in a Great Wolf Lodge resort being built adjacent to Cedar Fair’s newly acquired Kings Island amusement park near Cincinnati. Hercules Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Good, because that would really be over-extending themselves.
