verticalzero Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 BBC South Today's Today's weather presenter does get out of the studio occasionally to present the forecast from sedate locations like Cowes Week or Goodwood. But on Thursday, she presented the forecast live from onboard a moving roller coaster - thought to be a world first in broadcasting. She was on 'The Cobra', a new ride at Paultons Park in the New Forest. During the forecast, it reached speeds of 47 km per hour and pulled 3Gs at certain points. http://www.bbc.co.uk/hampshire/content/articles/2006/06/08/roller_coaster_feature.shtml
FLIPDUDE Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 that is totally awsome I love coaster relaed publicity stunts
rollermonkey Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 ^^ Probably a first in the UK, but they do that kind of stuff all the time here in Japan. My favorite is a segment where a woman does movie reviews while they do alll sorts of stuff to mess with her. She freaked badly on Bandit and didn't come close to getting the reviews done. Another segment involved a local boy band on Fujiyama. They generally did fine, but one guy looked like he might have wet his pants. I've seen a few other bits as well, and this sort of thing is on the tube way too often. Japanese TV really is weirder than you can even imagine.
FLIPDUDE Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 the japanese lady on the Bandit... did she end up getting electrecuted by a giant bunny? cus I saw that on Youtube
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 LOL was it the energizer bunny? Some dude did a report on Steel Phantom while riding it. The only problem... he called the loop the "Laser Loop" WTF?!
