Hello

I am planning to visit Houston, but as everybody knows Six flags Astroword is closed.

What other things are there to do or visit in Houston?

Thanks

I live in Houston, and to be honest with you, there isn't much to do. I would go the extra couple miles and make a trip to San Antonio. San Antonio had alot of things to do including Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It's also alot more scenic than Houston, with it's rolling hills. If you do go there, be sure to check out the RiverWalk.

If you go to Texas at all...you simply MUST ride a mechanical bull!

Also, I am sure that there are plenty of IHOP places.

What else...I do believe a larger than average aquarium is somewhere in the city...try looking on Google for it.

The city of course has beaches since it is on the coast...just don't expect Los Cabos.

Annnnnd, that is the extent of how much I can help you. Have fun.

Also ^ I agree with that person above me, San Antonio would be a lot more fun than Houston. I can actually give some real help with San Antonio.

There's also a pretty cool marina/nightlife, amusements area that has a few rides, called Kemah Boardwalk:

Also, I visited the new Schlitterbahn park in Galveston a few weeks ago, and its pretty cool. Read my TR here

As for touristy stuff, Johnson Space Center is pretty cool to do at least once, I thought it was up there with the National Air & Space museum in terms of coolness. In Galveston, one of the most unique-yet-cool attractions is the Offshore Drilling Museum, and the Hurricane of 1900 documentary on Pier 21 was pretty cool too. Oh, and if I recall, the name of the old ship docked there is called the "Elissa" so major points there! Galveston is less than an hour from downtown Houston.

The Galleria is one of the largest malls I have been too, and trying to watch Texas ice skate is enjoyable to say the least

Yes, you could go to San Antonio as well - its a very pretty town, but I'm not as familiar with it as Houston other than I remember it being a good 2-2.5 hrs away from downtown.

Have fun Carlos!

Ahh, be quiet. We aren't THAT bad, lol.

It's best at Christmas time when they have a huge tree on the rink that goes all the way to the top of the mall.

Im going to Houston too. Im not so sure, maybe do "regular" fun things like go to the movies, go to a mall, arcade, etc. I know it doesn't sound too exciting, but thats the only thing I can think of. Plus they have Waterworld (if thats the name). SF is thinking on closing it, so you might want to go there (although im not sure if its any good)
