Davidicus400 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 This is one of my better rides, any improvements you could think of would be appreciated. Its called Banshee, named after Cedar Points' Mantis' original name... Banshee.nltrack Banshee
coasterlover420 Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Welcome to the boards!! 1. You need to be aware of your banking. Even in the editor, I could feel the lateral G's being pulled. 2. Your track is rather rough. You need to learn to use the control handles a lot better. 3. Don't make a barrel roll without the elementary or the AHG. It always comes out crappy. 4. The barrel roll under the loop comes way too close to the track above it. Consider putting the loop up higher. 5. Why is the 1st drop unsupported? 6. Only use 1 segment for drops (2 verteces) so that it is a smooth transition all the way down. Take these into consideration the next time you build a coaster and I guarantee it will turn out better.
Davidicus400 Posted June 24, 2006 Author Posted June 24, 2006 Okay thanks, but could you explain what the/an elemantary and AHG is? I tried looking it up but I couldn't find it. Is it a method of creating segments or is it a tool that you download?
coasterlover420 Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Here is a website with all of the NL enhancers and addons. Enjoy! (if you need help with any of them, I'm your man)

You should have said "some of the best". Way more will be avail. here: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/toolbox
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 Welcome to the boards!! 6. Only use 1 segment for drops (2 verteces) so that it is a smooth transition all the way down. I use 3 pieces. The slope to the maximum angle, the straight portion and the pullout. And my drops come out just fine
BiCoastal Kid Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 ^Yeah, agreed. It CAN be done with two, but ideally you want three or more.
Davidicus400 Posted July 1, 2006 Author Posted July 1, 2006 I downloaded the GNSL construction kit from http://www.gravimetricstudios.com/ and I dont know where to extract it to, could anyone tell me?
coasterlover420 Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 Extract to wherever you want. I use 3 pieces. The slope to the maximum angle, the straight portion and the pullout. And my drops come out just fine A B&M coaster doesn't have a straight section to their drops. When a drop is designed with 1 segment (2 vertices), it gives a real B&M feel and it allowes for more floater air during the drop, which is what B&M really does.
weeow Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Yeah exactly. I always use one segment drops. So smooth and they look sweet.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I'm talking about straight drops. For curved ones i saved Montu's and i scale it up or down to my needs.

He's not emaning it as in perfectly straight. He's talking about the smooth transition between the apex and the valley. Using at least 3 vertecies give you much more control over your drop and can allow you to do many more variations on the simple straight drop.
