  1. Awesome update! I'm looking at going the 3rd weekend in Oct. Front of the line passes will be a must.
  2. A buddy of mine (who is an amazing artist) is working on the Haunt this year. Here is an awesome photo of the entrance of Wax Museum! Edit [also]:
  3. Sometimes two inches dont matter, and sometimes its everything!
  4. Why unfortunately? It has gotten better in recent years. I would be upset to see it go, but it won't happen for a long time. Why does that make it an "unfortunate event for you? It's unfortunate because no matter how much you retrack it, its not going to be a thrilling ride. Its pretty boring IMO. Could the park use the space for another world class coaster? SURE! Would they get rid of such an iconic family coaster? NOPE! The unfortunateness is leaking from every pore of this post. Oozing, almost. This post is moist. Whoa there! I think calling Grizzly "iconic" is a bit of a stretch. LOL. Really though, lets be the realist of the reals. The Grizz has been around since 1986. You and I arent far off in age, and I remember this ride being super popular back in the day. The queue is really beautiful; greenery, the Barney Oldfield Speedway snaking under and around Grizz's base... It's definitely iconic in the parks history. I doubt they ditch the Grizzly, even though I wish they would to make way for a thrill ride but the 48inch height requirement looks good on their "family rides" page. Honestly though, parks can fit a new ride in ANYWHERE.
  5. Sneak Preview of ‘Big Hero 6’ Coming to Disneyland Park September 26 RIP Captain EO: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2014/09/sneak-preview-of-big-hero-6-coming-to-disneyland-park-september-25/
  6. Alone in Trapped? You're a braver man than I... (and I work at Scary Farm) I didn't buy a Trapped ticket for this year based off of last years being doo doo. How does this years look? The designers and employees for Trapped are very good at keeping secrets, so I don't know what's in it this year. But... from the discussions I've heard around Haunt... they know last year was a big let down from 2012, and they have been working very hard to not let it happen again. Hopefully I'll get to see it next week during their dress rehearsal night and let you all know how great it is. While youre at it, tell them I want a refund for last year. It was so bad. The actors were so impatient, we were told how to advance out of the room to the next just when we were figuring it out. Its not like we were in the room for very long before that happened either. Talk about taking us out of the element. Most of our group complained of the same.
  7. Mini Update: So, I planned on doing a trip report showcasing the new Pavilion but with a heavy heart our company picnic was moved to the Picnic Grove towards the back side of the park. While I do like it from the back... ...I would have much rather drank my face off in their new digs and documented it all for you. There were a lot of companies holding their own parties on the same day (I think I counted 12). The parking lot looked full, but lines were SHORT (even for a Saturday). My girlfriend and I marathon rode Flight Deck 6 times in a row. I think the longest we waited for a ride was 5min and the line never stretched passed the first turn from the queues stairwell. Two train operation with stacking. Gold Striker also ran a two train operation with stacking. Goldie had all its switchbacks in use but our longest wait had to be 20min. That wait time was NOT consistent. We had one ride that was basically a walk on, and the last ride we walked all the way to the middle of the tunnel before waiting. I was pleased to see how well the park was looking (in prep for the upcoming Haunt). Paint was being updated on buildings and the park throughout, and most (if not all) of the queue graffiti I had seen on my last visit was removed! Lets get to the pics! This is as close as I was getting to the new Pavilion The landscaping at the Main Gates looks vibrant! Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for some coasters! Oh, hello Goldie! Someone must have know my breath was in need of some freshening up. They were nice enough to leave me some gum! SO THOUGHTFUL! New paint for the Goldie queue is sexy! Graffiti be gone!!! The line is moving fast! Loving the lack of graffiti in the queue, but hating the lack of new Instagram & Twitter accounts to troll... I spoke too soon Operations be operatin! A little touch up goes a long way and keeps the park beautiful. The park is gearing up for its annual Haunt, or its really trying to look like New Orleans post Hurricane.... too soon? This Jack in the Box refused to take my order! All I want is an Ultimate Cheeseburger, dammit! Hey look everybody! The back side of the new Pavilion. This unfortunately is where we got turned away and redirected. "Your picnic is in the back of the park"... Sounds like a good opportunity to ride Delta Flyer/Eagle's Flight We love green things in Northern California Firefall has had consistent FX's all season. Now if they could only get it to flip more or flip at all for that matter! I want to fly like an Eagle, to the sea! Fly like an Eagle let my spirit carry me! This ride delivers every time! Short lines and fast operations make my nipples hard. The kids in bucket 7 are either tagging or making out. The crew from 8x8 Inc had a blast and cleared 36 beers! CHEERS, TPR!

  10. Unfortunately, the Grizz isnt going anywhere. They've been spending money retracking the ride, and remains one of their signature family coasters. Vortex on the other hand, not so much. When is the last time this ride got some love? Get rid of it!
  11. This. But I feel for everyone else. You shouldn't have to know when to brace to avoid pain. Given it's layout and history, it stands up as a great family coaster for those parents who want to break their kids into inversions. Albeit, it's a painful experience for some, but wasn't your first attempts at walking just as bad? In all honestly I don't think it's in the parks best interest to remove it, but then again, it's probably more costly to refurbish the track than to replace the ride when you're talking about the bottom line $$$. Sure a new ride would be a lot more money, but in the long run it would pay for itself in ridership and promotion for the park as a whole. The demon is an icon of the park. It stays. And that's the bottom line, because laqueefa says so.
  12. I, for one, would be stoked if demon got some new paint, some new LED lights in the defunked light tunnel, and maybe a little love on the trains. We are in the middle of a bad drought so I dont expect blood colored water this year for Haunt, but its always a nice touch when they do that.
  13. Actually, I was going to post something similar. I'm constantly wiping the lens of my iPhone because I know how dirty it can get, being in your pocket, being out all the time, and just around the elements. --Robb "Just want to make sure you post the best photos you can!" Alvey This! My trip report of Californias Great America was done using my iPhone 5s. You'll see it makes a HUGE difference in your photos making sure your lens is clean. If you can't take a picture with the sun at your back find a shaded angle and use your HDR feature to improve the contrast (it will give the photo a nice back-lit look). Agreed. Imagine how drab it would look if it came with the red/orange colored track contrasted with Goliaths color in the background.
  14. Roller Coaster at NYNY in Las Vegas. I've never walked away so bruised from a coaster. I had one as big as a cantaloupe on my hip for more than 2 weeks. NEVER AGAIN!
  15. Did they reimburse you guys for that cell usage? If not, you should call Lionel Hutz, or call Saul!
  16. Seriously. I remember one trip to the Mountain, we had delays in getting dispatched on several rides because someone was going through their phone at every other ride. Cant say an auto-termination is extreme considering we are putting our safety in these employees hands. One time on Ninja, a girl forgot to check my restraints because she got a text and pulled her phone out, turned around to read it and put her thumb up. I had to get her attention and remind her to do her job.
  17. How can you make a comparison like that without having ridden the coaster in said comparison? Yeah exactly. So then the comparison is not valid because it's based on nothing. That's funny...... "I have not ridden it but it does not have as much airtime as X coaster"..... Lol oh brother. It's ridiculous posts like those that remind me what thread I'm in. LOL!
  18. The speed of that looks incredibly intense! Just watching it pushed my brain out of my b-hole.
