  1. If you want a challenge I'd try any pinafari coaster. There are some at my home parks and If ound them extremely difficult to recreate despite their simplicity.
  2. ^LOL! Yeah, you jsut reminded me, the boat in front of us during the Deluge ERT vallied! I got to show Robb and Elissa my power of making rides Im about to go on break down
  3. Must have, it was alot of fun whenw e rode it
  4. ^Uhm, I don't know which one you rode, but we rode the one at SFGAm in the back row and it was alot better than riding the one at SFGADv in the front row.
  5. Whoa! Bye bye Herhsey?! That's... I think that's the first time I've seen anything like that. This is kind of sad, and yet, I am in awe of your creativity and the effort you put into making this park so lively.
  6. awsome, however I think that it was a mistkae to create Maverick's corkscrews the way you did. I would make it go up to vertical, then twist, go upside down, twist again, and straighten out. Kinda like a top hat only the train exits int he oppoiste direction.
  7. ^Yes, must've been that, we were a bit behind you in line I think and thent hey had to make everyone go in a U-turn kind of thing
  8. Thank you for finding that! I was looking for my copy of it to post later but I don't remember what the CD looked like. I really hit that high note, didn't I? Also, what was funniest about you flapping your "wings" was that you didn't even realize you were doing that untill you saw the video!
  9. Thank you! And it's not so much that I never run out of ideas. I just draw these when I DO have ideas.
  10. ^Thanks Fry! I appreciate the feedback!
  11. The pictures I tried to upload: And finally, the pic I think best describes Timber Falls: What I like about this picture is that to me it looks for some reason that I can't point out... Surreal.
  12. Timber Falls & Adventure Golf! So we get to the park after a long, 60 second drive. Reminder: Avalanche, the park's main, and one of only 4 attractions was hit by lightning the night before and therefore didnt work. And so when we got to the park, it still wasnt sure if we were gonna get ot ride it or not. Anyhow, the second we got off the bus everyone went straight for Avalanche. Timber Falls is a gorgeous park. Despite the fact that what you see in this picture - is pretty much the entire park. This wasn't taken from the center of the park, this was taken from the opposite corner of it. The park through the queue's iron grid fence. I doubt we had ERT on the enitre park, but for some odd reason we were the ONLY PEOPLE THERE the entire time. I guess because the mechanics were too busy trying to get Avalanche to work for us, and therefore the log flume wasn't working. It was too bad the flume wasn't operating, it looked really awsome as far as log flumes go, but I'd take Avalanche over the flume any day. Kinda looks like everyone in this photo didn't want to get photographed, except Robb. Unless he's gesturing me to "shut that thing off." Well, we were all allowed to go in the station and they started loading the first train. The mechanics were still hard at work trying to get the ride up and running for us. We were all looking on with anticip... ation.(movie refference, anyone?) Everyone on the train is cheering for the girl-on-girl action on the ride op's behalf. After 10 minutes that seemed to last like 40 they finally decided "Hey, you know what? We can't fix the ride's sensors, which basically keeps trains from crashing into each other, but we're only operating one train anyway, so we'll let you ride!" DISPATCH! (I love this picture. It wouldn't of turned out half as good if I took it with a digital camera. Digital cameras almost always take decent pictures, and while disposables screw up %95 of all pictures the remaining %5 just comes out kickass) Anyhow, that's how we all got to ride a broken coaster! The first trian climbed up the hill as everyone int he station cheered that the coaster was working, and zoomed around the track. "Hey Frank... Should we tell them a couple of screws are loose on the wheel assembley?" -"Nah, they'll figure it out soon enough." But all jokes aside, magor thanks to the awsome technicians for getting the ride up and running for us. We gave them a huge applause when they did. The tiny train zoomed around the course and came by for a nice flyby. "Hey everyone, how'd you like it?" Avalanche appeared to be a hit. Then it was my turn to go. I got in the front row(natuurally.) and the train went on it's way. What I love about this coaster is that it never lost how exciting it was to ride. I would get just as excited getting ready to ride it for the 5th time as I did the 1st time around. Anyhow the way it works is, it gently glides out of the station and turns. Everything is so compact at that point of hte track it looks kind of surreal. You climb up the lift, and when you get to the top you have an awsome view in front of you, which I didnt get a picture of because I didnt know if this is a camera allowed park, and Robb told us to not even ask. Then you dive down and into a wild turn. You fly somewhere between the log flume, the "lake", and a large billboard threatning to chop your hands off if you raise them too high, all this wile experiencing WILD airtime. The train really didn't look like it was going "fast forward" to me like Robb always says but it gets so much CRAZY ejector airtime, it might as well be! In fact it had so much airtime it actually had hairtime, seeing as the hair of pretty much everyone would fly upwards ont he hills.(check out the front row) You circle the park as the train wildly shakes rattles and rolls(without being uncomfortable, though!) all while wearing out those poor upstop wheels so you dont fly off on one of those insane hills. The train goes in for a flyby, and then does another round aroudn the park. Then comes THIS turn... When the train reaches this turn, it seems like the train is shaking independantly from you and the track. It seriously feels like at any second now, the trian will fall apart and peices of it would fly in every direction. but instead of doing that it comes to a halt on the brakes. The ride was fantastic. S&S did an amazing job on this one. I rode it another time, but then I couldnt help but noticing something peeking at me from behind the coaster... I figured I'd head on over to it while everyone is still riding Avalanche. No line. The ride was outside of the circle formed by Avalanche, which surrounds the entire park. It was on concrete, and a bit removed to the park, so at first I found myself SERIOUSLY wondering "Does this belong to Timber Falls, or that Taco place over there?" Now, it may sound like a rediculous thought to someone who's never been to the Dells, but like I said, in the Dells, every building is either wacky, upside down, crooked, or has its own amusement/waterpark. And that Taco place looked suspiciously normal. A little intro first: A couple of years ago I was at SFGADv and they also had this kind of ride. I bought a ticket to go on it but the ride looked and felt so unsafe and out-in-the-open as opposed to having enclosed cars and a massive structure that I chickened out(the people who went on before us ende dup being stuck at the top for a while...) so this time it was all about conquering my fear. I gotta say - ominous storm clouds appearing out of nowhere for enhanced dramatic effect - not a big help. I bought a ticket. $10. And got on the platform. Sadly nobody was around to ride with me or watch as I conquer my fear. The ride op directed me to the seat. I stared at it a little worried. Instead of the modern, safer looking, 4-seat canopy with OSTRs, this ride had a flimsy looking 2 seat canopy with even flimsier X shaped seatbelts across the rider's chest. I sat in as the ride op put the seatbelts on me and then the platform was removed from under my feet. No turning back now. The giant rotating arm started spinning and before I knew it I was flipping around at scary altitudes with nothing holding me in my seat but those seatbelts. It was alot of fun! It was nohing like a rollercoaster. It was amazing to see the Dells' woods upside down and above you, while the sky was beneath your feet, as opposed to looking at track flying by. The fact that the ride used seatbelts and not OSTRs was also great because it felt more free and didn't obstruct the view one bit. Every so often it would look like I'm about to crash into some power lines. Once again, this all seemed very surreal. After a relatively long amount of time(to be said in the park's favour, seeing as most parks would probably have a very short run on such rides) it finally came to a halt. I noticed other TPRers had come by now wanting to ride it, possibly drawn to the ride from my screams that could be heard around the Dells. I got off, everyone asked me how was it and I said it was great and totlaly worth it. I didn't ride again, but if it was cheaper I definately would have. Then other people rode it and I took some pictures. Like I said, this ride totally looked like it could be owned by the Taco Place. Other people seemed to enjoy it alot too. Then it was time to return to the park. I got a couple more rides in on Avalanche, during which I got to sit behind Freddie. For those of you who don't know, Freddie has really long hair. And every hill it would fly upwards and narrowly avoid my face. It was hillarious to see airtime in full blown action. Then everyone decided to grab a little something to eat/drink or just rest so we all went to the picnic tables. It's then that Terrance decided to pick on Bryan(Remember? Today was all about him!) and Bryan mentioned that it wasn't him who posted on the forums thatonly the same 10 people are always in the TR, but that it was his mom. Terrance didn't beleive him and quickly snatched his phone to call Bryan's mom. Everyone listened carefully to Terrance's conversation. Apparantly Bryan was telling the truth, but that didn't stop everyone from keeping today all about Bryan. Then it was time to play mini golf. I teamed up with Sean, who enjoyed Minigolf as much as I did, so we played it at almsot every park during the trip(and I guess that by doing so I inadvertedly did a huge favor for everyone who was annoyed by him. Thats okay, you can thank me later) and we played through the course. We were followed by Elissa and her group of 18.5 fanboys who for some reason were constantly on our tail and even waited for us to finish ac ouple of holes. I have no idea how come they finished that much faster than we did, seeing how we were two people, and there was like 87 of them(they multiplied). The golf course was fantastic, seriously one of the best designed golf courses I've ever seen(there seemed to be an ever better one at Adventure golf next door but that wasn't part of the park and we didnt have time for it, so it leaves me with something to look forward to next time I'm in the Dells) not to mention it was beautiful and had great views of everything in the park. It had huge downhill slopes, bridges, jumps, even a couple of caves and staircases. eventually when we got to the final hole who had totem poles(which kept squirting water, or fire or I dont remmeber what, and speaking incoherently) which sucked our golf balls into oblivion. I then bought a souvenier ball at the shop and it was time to go back to Mt. O. I'll upload pics in a sec its just my comptuers acting weird.
  13. Road Runner Express had the longest line out of all the rides in the park. It was at LEAST 40 minutes if not more, depsite the fact they were runnign a reasonable amount of cars and the line was rather short. I just learned on the trip that all Wild Mouse coasters suck when it comes to capacity. Also, I disagree about T2 being anything other than sheer torture. That shaking-forward-and-backwards motion is less than plesant when theres a tight seatbelt connecting the restraints to the chair right between your legs(look at any pic of T2 on the brakes. Girls are happy, guys, not so much)
  14. Awsome update, Jahan! I knew it would pay off to wait out the pink side! I knew you guys thought I was being rediculous but it was so much fun the second it was actually fixed that everyone who got on the train got to tell you "Oh, now, you can't ride, you have to catch the bus!" I guess I got my just desserts, though. Because I rode it first I thought I had enough time to grab a picture of deluge. Which is when Ryan, who caught the later ride ran past me telling me to get on over to the bus, so I go freaked out, didnt notice where I was going and fell from the thing I was standing on, breaking my camera along the way, and getting to the bus just in time for Elissa to get PO'd at me(and rightfully so) for being late for the bus. One question though. Wtf am I doing in this picture? I look like a mentally challenged Captain hook trying to rap. The other two next to me don't seem to be making a wole lot of sense either.
  15. I have no idea what happened to the looping coaster. I was saddened to see it disappear too, but I don't care, I'd settle for that handglider coaster and a master blaster if thats what it takes to ge thte park going. It seems alot has changed since 2006, there is now almost no mention of the fact that back in 2006 the park was thought to be themed to different cities around the world such as New Orleans, Hollywood, Bangkok, Etc. now it seems the park will be themed according to various parts of the world but most middle east to the orient. I don't know how safe Kuwait and Lebanon are so I can't answer that, but I can say that, assuming you stay out of the dangerous zones of Israel(which are basically next to the gaza strip, hardly anything to look for there anyway) then it's very very safe. BECAUSE of the whole mess there is increased security pretty much everywhere, and many tourists or people who moved here from other countries say they actually feel safer here than they did back at their home countries. Tel Aviv(the city I live in, which is Israel's commercial capital), Jerusalem(the religious and official capital) and Eilat(the city the park will be built in) are all thankfully very safe. Though 25 years is a long time, can't predict what'll happen in the next 25 years. There might be peace, this might be a different country, and there are a million different scenarios. Airtime - I doubt the park will open on scheduele. In Israel it's not uncommon for projects to ge tpushed back. Right nwo the big question is if it gets built or not. not so much "when".
  16. Also - just so you guys can see how exciting this is for me, this is my home park, and one of Israel's 2 "biggest" theme parks: The amusement park is the area in the red Copare that to the space Aquaria is expected to take:
  17. Big Update! Alright! I thought for sure this park was dead and buried, seeing as the press mentioned something about it having trouble getting some permits, and the project being abandoned severla years ago. Well, today while surfing some forums someone scanned a 3 page story about the park. While I couldnt read the article because it was poor quality scanning, I could figure out that the park's project has been picked up again!!! Not only that, but now more detials hav eben released and the park even has it's own website(in english, I assume it's for investors). The park will be themed to the silk road(the connection between the middle east and the orient) and from what I read(and please note I only skimmed through the text for now looking for naything coaster related so I probably missed alot), if everything goes according to plan(which I doubt, but a guy can hope), aside for amazing theming from the guys who are in charge of IOA and disneyland, and the golf/shopping resorts, etc. Some of the key attractions of the amusement park section of the project will be(note I said key, I didnt bother mentioning things I wasn't impressed with such as carousels and firework shows etc. To read the full list go to the park's website): -The Aquaria Tower(Im not sure what htat is but it is supposed to turn into the City's landmark) -Wired Hang Glider coaster(On the park's description it is compared to Pteranodon Flyers at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, but it keeps mentioning flight so I suspect this may be the lie-down model), this will be in the park's indoor section -Aquacoaster(They make it sound like a log flume, but they also mention cresting hills at high speeds) -Many 4D style rides. -Hot air balloons(Im not sure if they mean a ride or actual hot air balloons) -White Water Rafting – Family Water Coaster (This is a master blaster, probably in the waterpakr section) -Aquaria's racing center(From what I understand this will be a giant go-kar/drag racing section?) -A shooting range(I must admit, this one kind of threw me off. I never heard of a shooting range in an amusement park. I suspect they're tlaking about real guns.) Open-Air Cinema Complex(this basiclaly sounds like a movie theater, but alot prettier and breathtaking) -Cirque de soleil -Blue Man Group Theater -Excursion Boats and WaterTaxis -Wadi Dune Buggies(this probably reffers to actual dune buggies seeing as Eilat is built on sand dunes) -4 "edutainment" pavillions revolving around technology, world tradition, and Israel's culture/geography -Aquaria’s Entertainment City I suspect this to be like the universal city walk. Basically a palce with lots of bars, restaurants, shops, resorts, etc. Aquaria’s Wild Oasis Water Park -Sandy Beach(I can't tell if they mean a poolside beach or an actual beach, seeing as the waterpakr is palced right next to the red sea) -Wave pool/s with 1.5 meter tlal waves. Supposedly one of the biggest wave pools in the world, and the biggest wave pool in the middle east. -Themed Lazy River -Volcanic eruption(I'm not sure if this is a pyrotechnics show, an actual ride, or both) -Speed Slide Tower(Five story tall slide tower with enclosed tube slides) -Master Blaster Family Ride(I know I already mentioned this but the file lists it again, maybe there are two?) Volcano Tube Slides - 3 family tube slides -Aquaria’s Water Park Atrium - this basically sounds like an rea where adults can enjoy natural rock grottos and waterfalls in a south island atmosphere, and the kids cna enjoy a play area And naturally, theres the 18 hole golf course and sports club the parks official website: www.aquaria.com UPDATE - I jsut finished rummaging through the park's powerpoint presentation and I dug up the following pictures, I am absolutely amazed because this level of detail and expense when it ocmes to scenery is something I ahvent seen anywhere in Israel.(I linked to pictures that were too big with thumbnails) (I didnt post real-life illustration photos unless they have something praticularly interesting in them, if you want tos ee the things I didnt upload download the powerpoint presentation) Just so were clear, this is nothing like what buildings in Israel look like, so it's pretty amazing to know wed have european/greek style buildings there. I am so freaking exicted, I seriously hope they build this!
  18. I didn't notice any trick track in the video, but even if it is, its not the first steel coaster to have it, some togo stand up coaster had it too. King Cobra, I think.
  19. ...Wow, that looks... Horrible. I am actually glad my time was better spent over at Mt. O.
  20. I enjoyed reading the TR While the rides may be the point of the TR its also nice to occasionaly see what the park itself is like in a TR. It looks very pretty. Also, is that a crashed model railway?
  21. ^^Weird that they'd put so much money and effort into the outside of the building and so little into the inside.
  22. ^Oh... "top secret" stuff such as what?
  23. Personally I was much more enthusiastic about Holiday World but I can see where you're coming from. I guess beauty is in the eyes of the passholder. Great TR, I enjoy reading it and hope to see more soon! I think you're right on the money by saying its a small park trying to act like a big park. Though in my opinion they're doing a pretty high-quality job regardless.
  24. Ooh! That place does look like alot of fun! Just one more reason to go back to the Dells one day
  25. This should be interesting. It won't be a re-visitable ride, seeing as I doubt theyll change who the criminal is very often, if at all. But as a first time attraction this has alot of potential. And I think it is very likelt it will be re-themed to family so it's not about murder and rape and whatnot. Moreso like "Where's tweety?"
