^Hah, no clue if that's intentional or not. Either way it's funny. (EDIT: according to their forum post, it is.) Man I really want to play this... The price extremely bums me out though. Additional note: Hmm... It seems like the height of tower rides isn't editable. This worries me a bit... I mean, one one hand you could argue that's more realistic, since rides in real life usually come in pre-existing models and heights, but... This makes the game less flexible design-wise, plus, I doubt they'll really make a whole bunch of different height models. I really hope you can edit their height when the game's done. -

Okay, so, I'm still excited about this game and it still looks absolutely great, so keep that in mind while I get a couple of minor complaints outta the way: -Seems like ride theming is not optional, at least for now. The star flyer necessarily looks like a sun, the flying aces is necessarily skyscraper themed, etc. Really, REALLY hope they fix this. -No coaster building in the first alpha release of the game? I know they're coming in a few weeks but... C'mon, you know that's the first thing the alpha testers were aching to open as soon as they got the game, could've at least mentioned that the first version won't have it. -Okay, I get that people respond differently to different rides and what might be a gentle ride to one person might be a gut wrenching thrill ride to another, and I dig the individual responses but... There's absolutely no reason for one person to shake and vibrate while the other person isn't. That has much less to do with how excited you are and more to do with how much the ride is actually shaking you. Watching people on the Sun tower thing, the guy that vibrates sticks out like a sore thumb. Having said that though... -AAAH THE GAME LOOKS GREAT AND PRETTY -Holy crap, that giant tree of life thing I'm seeing in some of the videos... That looks so incredible. If you can do that with the terrain editor I can't imagine what else! The creative people are gonna build some CRAZY fantasy parks!!! -Love the portable grid thing. -Big rides are actually big! -

^I don't think it's stupid, I think it's a valid complaint, $75 IS a very high price for something like that. You can say "If you don't want it just don't buy it" about a lot of stuff, doesn't mean they're not still ridiciulously expensive or that their high price is justified. They need to do beta testing and get feedback anyway. And I guess it's not unthinkable to charge people a couple of extra bucks for it, even if most games don't charge extra for beta. But to charge -that much- extra just seems... Inappropriate, honestly. -
^I have, and succeeded, but nolimits has nothing to do with it. The construction system here is terrible. I would've preffered Nolimits' system far better. If it's gonna be hard as hell to master, might as well get good results out of it. I made a coaster that ended up looking pretty great and realistic but building it was an absolute nightmare and it was REALLY hard getting good results.

^Me? RCTW fanboy? No way, I was disappointed in RCTW ever since I first got to play the beta. And even before that I was a bit apprehensive about it. I just felt people might have been picking the wrong things to focus on. Defending stuff like their choice to integrate UCC doesn't mean I think the game is GOOD. the coaster editor is still pretty much crap (I saw a gameplay video where the user didn't even realize he can pitch and tilt the track segments, and what kind of pathetic excuse for a coaster builder doesn't let you build a proper LOOP?!), the ride selection is pitiful (seriously? 30 rides? Cedar Point alone has 47 or so rides!!!), etc.

Well, if they do another Q&A you should ask that question. Its something most of us would also like to know. Eh... I always miss it :\ -

That.... looks fantastic. Pretty much all of my concerns forom earlier posts have been addressed. Looks like we'll be getting a great ride selection. But what I still hope to see and wasn't clear on whether or not will be the case - rides that we've seen with theming WITHOUT theming. Like, I might want to build a plane ride thingy without the skyscrpaer in the middle. Wonder if that's possible. -
Hm? Seems alright, I guess. I mean, sure, the ride isn't realistic but there was plenty you could do in the first RCT games that wasn't realistic either. Really this is nothing different than what we already knew from the beta. The question is how easy was it to BUILD said unrealistic coaster... (Though, yeah, I am worried by the lack of straight segments in the video)

Yup. Hi. -
Cities Skylines is by far one of the best city builders out there. Basically it's main issues are: a. The graphics are fairly simple. This makes the game be able to run smoothly even with huge cities, but, y'know. Sometimes it's nice to have intricate buildings with elaborate architecture. You can see screenshots and see for yourself how much it does or doesn't bug you. b. Once your reach a certain point the game is very zen. Unlike simcity 4 and such where there would always be some wrench in your plan to fix, if you plan your city well it is quite possible to reach a situation where you have a great city and everyone's happy, living a high end life, making you enough money in taxes, and the biggest issue is where are you gonna put the next dump/graveyard when the existing ones fill up. Which gives off a bit of a "...Great, now what?" feeling, at which point your city basically becomes a giant zen garden for you to play with less for the challenge and moreso as a calm idle thing to enjoy. If you're into that then by all means it's the game for you. These are really minor issues IMO. Colossal Order proved they really know how to listen to their fans and give them what they want.

^Eh, personally I think the designs look fine. really nice, even. I just hope they're less repetitive in the final version of the game, in the video it seemed guests of the same kind have the same colors for their clothes/hair, etc. -
^I second that. It's considered a resounding success, too. And sure, not everything in the workshop is excellent but you don't have to "dig through mountians of trash to get to the good stuff", you can pretty much tell at a thumbnail glance from most things, and you can remove the boring recolors by checking certain checkboxes int he filters. And why would you assume stuff you don't have just "doesn't show up"? in other games I play when you play online with someone and they're playing with stuff you don't have, the game just downloads said stuff. That sounds like it makes more sense. or at least it might prompt you to ask if you want to. And honestly given how much life UCC breathed into RCT3, and how hard modders tried to get custom rides into the game (which, need I remind you took like 6 years or more since the game's release, at first all we had was Custom Scenery), it would've been absolutely stupid of them NOT to have UCC supported. And now people are accusing them of being lazy? Hell, if anything, this is one of the only things they got RIGHT.

Q4? Didn't they say something about a march release in their livestream? Or was that, like, beta or something? -

I hope you're right, because seeing five different shots of different trains, all on the corkscrew track, kinda made it seem pretty RCTW-ish -

That's just the thing though, I'm REALLY not getting that feeling, it kind of feels like the focus is everything BESIDES the rides, to be honest. -

The game looks beautiful, sure, but... we haven't reallys een much about what it has to offer amusement-park wise. all they ever talk about is character animation, theming, and how the entertainers/shopkeepers interact with their enviroment. Call me crazy but, I kinda wanna see more about the actual RIDES. I don't think we've even seen a single non-coaster tracked ride, have we? And as it stands, I've seen more kinds of coasters in RCTW than I have here, and that's really saying a lot given how few coasters are in RCTW. EDIT - Okay apparantly I've missed the latest dev diary, which does go a bit more into parkbuilding, but... Seriously, it seems like right now there's at best, three types of coasters we've seen (corkscrew, B&M, B&M inverted) but with a whole bunch of trains. I know there's a very good chance there's much more to the game than what we've seen, but... We haven't even seen a wooden coaster yet. For all we know, this game has a more limited ride selection than RCTW... -
^Aye, but to be fair, RCTW was supposed to come out long, long before Planet Coaster. (Also, while I agree Planet coaster looks way better, on their facebook page they post almost nothing but character animation, there's almost no actual footage of theme park building except for maybe one video they posted)
