Big Mike just got back from a trip where parking was $18 and $20! Thank goodness for Knoebels, except for how crowded it was today! Reason #19 - FREE picnic area! Again, how many parks block you from bringing in your own food?? Heck, Knoebels even lets you reserve a whole pavilion for a party! Reason #18 - FREE admission! Reason #15 - Flying Turns! I know, Big Mike may be retired by the time this opens, but it still finds a spot on the charts just due to it's potential! Curious on when Flying Turns will open? Big Mike has the updated scoop! Big Mike is still holding on to the dream that one day he will be lined up in this line for a ride! Sadly, it won't be this year again Reason #14 - The Ice Pole! A rare amusement park feature! Big Mike loves to cool off his forehead on these things! Reason #13 - The Flyers! Happy anniversary too! It's fun to make these "snap", and Big Mike has earned the name Sir Snaps-a-lot here! Reason #12 - Kozmo's Curve! Ranked higher than Flying Turns because it is open, and on the list since it's a credit! Anyone who has ridden it knows that it's not a typical kiddie coaster! Reason #11 - Best Traditional Park in the USA! So many things that make this park such a charm! Bald Eagle display! Can you tell which one the fake one is? Superb photo opportunities! Carousel Museum! You could easily spend an hour in here reading and observing! A Knoebels Museum too. An easy hour in here too! Wow, 11 parks went under within 35 miles of Knoebels! Mining Museum! On top of all the free things at the start, you could wander the 3 museums and STILL not spend a penny on the day! An actual Fascination venue still exists! Even more great photo opportunities! Newly added Kozmo Kast! Learn even more about the park! There is also a huge pool too! Reason #10 - Black Diamond! The housing for the ride! Please add a Black Diamond sign somewhere though! Knoebel's did a great job of reviving this coaster with some tremendous theming! Credit #1,137 for The Mighty Big Man! Reason #9 - Knoebel's ability to bounce back from a flood, over and over again! Check out this flood, it is almost as tall as Big Mike! Hard to believe that this stream not even up to the little kid's ankles gets THAT high! But it does! Way too often too! Before. After. Thanks Knoebels! Reason #8 - Twister! Big coaster, and look, a Dipping Dots for everyone in the Not So Epic Contest! Reason #7 - The Skooters! The best bumper cars, period! Lusse cars make all the difference! Before you get to ride the bumper cars, you must pass Flat Jack! How many people can say they met the real Flat Jack?? The Big Man can of course! Did I mention that they are award winning?? Here is an actual Lusse car, which actually rides like a tank! This is a MUST ride for Big Mike every single visit, no exceptions! Reason #6 - Knoebel's is family owned! No big corporation prices and feel, it's a family friendly atmosphere. Here I am pointing to Dick Knoebel, a guy I have a TON of respect for! Just in case it was hard to see Dick in the picture, here he is hanging out with Big Mike during the off season! How many times would you see the park owner come out himself and drive a happily married couple around the park on their wedding day? That says a LOT about this family! Actually, how many times have you seen a park owner running the ticket booth too?? Big Mike and Dick together once again! Dick is either in the midst of giving a thumbs up or in the midst of trying to block Big Mike from going after the open cash register. You make the call! Reason #5 - Best Food Award! It is tough to stay on top, so Knoebels has to bring out new ideas every year! An international food court is just for starters, with many many other options around the park. One of the main draws is Cesari's Pizza! Yes please! Big Mike loves the white birch beer! Big Mike could eat all day long at Knoebels, and usually does! Reason #4 - Phoenix! Always rated one of the top coasters in the world by everyone! Big Mike has to admit, magic seat or anywhere else on the train, Big Mike just does not get the love for this ride??? Oh well, I will enjoy it anyway. Actually, there was one ride I really enjoyed on Phoenix, the ride when I rode with Kozmo! Reason #3 - Best Dark Ride! The Haunted House at Knoebels! Pure enjoyment! It's a huge house and kept in perfect condition. Another MUST ride for Big Mike on every single visit! Reason #2 - Best Carousel! A brass ring carousel and by far Big Mike's favorite anywhere! I guess it doesn't hurt that Big Mike is the Master at getting the brass ring!!! If you skipped the video at the start of the update, make sure to watch it and hear Big Mike called out a winner once again! This is absolutely a MUST ride every single visit and there IS truth to the rumor that if Big Mike is on your ride, you just about have zero chance of getting the brass ring due to Big Mike's patented "Two Handed Technology"! Heck, people get off and actually wait for the next ride!! Everyone's probably thinking to themselves what is left to be the #1 reason that makes Knoebels the greatest??? Reason #1 - Dogs are allowed at the park!!! Meet and Greet with Lucky Dog at Phoenix Phall Phunfest in 2012??? Could be! Big Mike and Lucky Dog dressed up in the Phoenix Phall Phunfest parade in 2012??? The rumor is yes! Just in case someone did not know, dogs make Big Mike very happy! Here are some of my new friends I met in one visit at Knoebels! Do dogs LOVE Big Mike? They seem to ALL be looking at him! Check it out!! Amazing, isn't it? The fact that there are so many dogs at Knoebels or how much love the dogs give to Big Mike? BOTH!!! Big Mike had a few extra tickets and decided to ride the flume for the first time! The Big Mike Road Show 2012 World Tour continues with it's Northern California Leg of the tour from July 4th to July 14th! Here is the tentative tour schedule: Wed July 4th - Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in the evening. Thur July 5th - Gilroy Gardens in the morning and Alameda Fair in the evening. Fri July 6th - Happy Hollow in the morning and California's Great America following that for the rest of the night. Sat July 7th - Oakland Zoo, Pixieland, Funtown at Micke Grove, Funderland and John's Incredible Pizza. Sun July 8th - Rotary Storyland, Blackbeards, and Kiwanis Kiddieland. Yosemite National Park in the evening. Mon July 9th - Yosemite National Park. Tue July 10th - Train Town in the morning and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom following that for the rest of the night. Wed July 11th - San Francisco sight seeing. Thur July 12th - San Francisco sight seeing. Fri July 13th - San Francisco sight seeing and San Francisco Giants game at night. Sources have told TMZ that the famous legendary coaster rider Big Mike and Katie have been secretly rendezvousing everytime they are both in New York together! TMZ sources say that "Big Mike" Betzler is currently one of the hottest celebrities on the planet right now, with a major motion picture opening right now using his intellectual property of his Magical Mikey shirts in the movie Magic Mike. Big Mike has Traveled the World Riding Roller Coasters in his ultra cool gold shirt, and rumor has it that Katie Holmes has met up secretly with Big Mike on many occasions for a late night roll in the hay.
