  1. God, no. I guess my closest home park is SFGadv, followed closely by SFAmerica. Although I enjoy them both, and they have some great rides, they are nowhere near my favorite parks. For traditional parks, I'd say Knoebel's is tops. For theme parks, either Islands of Adventure or Magic Kingdom, followed by Busch Gardens Tampa. I also live relatively close to several beachside areas such as Funland in Rehoboth Beach, Trimpers in Ocean City, Maryland and Morey's Piers in Wildwood.
  2. Spirited Away is the movie that introduced me to Miyazaki. I absolutely love it. I don't watch a lot of anime, but his stuff really has heart. I purchased Nausicaa back last year and recently watched it. I found it enchanting. Since then, I've purchased Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle, but haven't seen them yet.
  3. Being a big fan of all the games, both X-box and PS2, I was greatly looking forward to the movie. I won't say I was disappointed, but it was far from perfect. The director captured the atmosphere of Silent Hill perfectly and the score was flawless. I actually felt like the town was made more real through the cinema experience. I don't however, think it was a great horror movie. I think many non-gamers will be left scratching their heads, especially at the ending. I thought the monsters were very faithfully recreated, but I was never scared. I also feel that the acting could have used a bit of work. I have no problem with Radha Mitchells role, but thought Sean Bean was a much better actor in his previous work than in this. In his defence, I do get the impression that the role was never really fleshed out. Also not impressed with Lauren Holden's job as Cybil. She did become more interesting toward the end but she seemed like a caracature of a cop, instead of an actual one. Jodelle Ferland was better in the Alessa role than as Sharon. Anyway, thats my two cents. I'll probably still buy it on DVD, but I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
  4. I keep waiting for Duckman on DVD. That show rocked!
  5. Gay and partnered in Delaware. Can't get enough of either horror movies or rollercoasters. My partner enjoys some of both and my best gal pal is almost equally as spastic about 'em as I am! Too bad we gotta travel outside the state to go on any real coasters,eh?
  6. Just came across this site and wanted to say hello. I'm from Baltimore originally, and am currently living in Northern Delaware. I lived in various cities on the East Coast including several in Florida, and I really miss being close to some very good parks. Also, I love seasonal haunted houses as much as I love amusement parks, so I'm always looking for some good suggestions come September and October.
