Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread

^ Yeah, the braking is the straightaways parts that end with the blizzard and then the lightning. It's not explicitly "we're testing anti-lock brakes" but the section is the same. And the hot/cold chambers were replaced by the aerodynamic effect. -

^ The ride path and timing is exactly the same. They just changed the visuals around it. -

This is great news! Those resorts were stuck in 70's. I think this will really do a lot for them. The Breakers feels like it was stuck in the 1870's. -

Doesn't this new version actually subscribe to the overall Epcot Future World "mission statement" of showcasing a better tomorrow than Test Track 1.0 did? This new one is more about the future of cars, technology, etc. The other one was just a recreation of a 90's test track, nothing really aspirational about it. Granted, the majority of Future World is still stuck in the 90's, but this seems like a good step in making the place more forward-focused in theme and concept. -

Hi! I edited the topic title for you as "I am new" isn't going to let people know what info you're asking for. Descriptive titles will help other members find your topic and help provide info. Welcome to the boards! -

Hopefully this update spurns some decisions to update the rest of the aging Future World line-up...Universe of Energy desperately needs updating, Imagination obviously could be so much better, and it would be nice to see Wonders of Life actually become something instead of being shuttered. -

Riding something before criticizing it is soooooo 2000-late. Watching a Youtube video and passing judgment is the way of the future. -

Seems legit. One of the will be "Brake Run: The Ride", which will be the world's first 300 mph launch coaster that will launch right into a brake run. It's short, has a gimmick, so it will fit right in. We already have one of those! -

^ It doesn't really bother me, although enclosing the outside section would have helped with the rain downtime. I think it looks really good overall. Much better than I expected. -

The Court of Angels in NOS at Disneyland is nice. -
^ I think they did a good balance of decorating without overdoing it, especially since the DCA decorations are in lands that are brand new and many guests haven't seen in their normal form. They aren't knock-your-socks-off or anything, but they blend well and there's room to add more in upcoming years when the lands aren't so new.
