  1. I didn't see anything in that video that rumors anything. It's just a video of the last ride.
  2. Surgical removal for the scrap yard. Makes no sense. And I read somewhere yesterday that C.F. ordered a new Vekoma train. No, Boom is getting moved.
  3. They would not need to remove the cobra roll to remove the train cars and it doesn't look missing at this time in the webcam. I am not sure why they would remove part of the cobra roll until the entire coaster came down. I believe it is just a small section of the flat track directly adjacent to the station and before the hill starts that they remove to pull the cars off. The pics posted yesterday on RCDB and Knotts Network show a piece of the cobra roll missing on the station side. The upper piece. The first inversion.
  4. Then why did they remove part of the cobra roll Monday night? That segment wouldn't have anything to do with getting the train out, would it?
  5. The ride closed three days ago and we're already complaining the park is taking too long to disassemble it? Not what I meant. I'm interested in the engineering of it. I'm not complaining. I'm fascinated. I didn't know there was so much involved. I thought undo some bolts. Rig it up. Load it on the truck. And moving on. But apparently no. There's a lot more to it.
  6. Based on the pics posted yesterday and what we can see right now on the webcam, it appears they are able to remove a segment each night. It really takes that long to unscrew some bolts and rig up cables?
  7. Longest: Indiana Jones, Disneyland, 4 plus hours. Two separate occasions. Totally worth it don't get me wrong. Slowest: Pony Express, Knott's Berry Farm. For a twenty second ride with two trains it sure goes slower than molasses. I've been on it twice. First time I was four train loads back (including one already loaded train) and it took over 40 minutes just to board. Second time I was next in line (one loaded train ahead of me) and it took 15 minutes . Worst: Ninja, SFMM. I was stuck for over 2 hours behind two wannabe enthusiasts who literally talked the entire time about how Ninja was the longest, fastest, loopiest inverted coaster since Batman. THEY ARE IN THE SAME PARK!
  8. Calling Sol Spin a mistake is premature and unfair. No one is defending mistakes or incompetence. They are just saying wait a few weeks until all the kinks are worked out. This is a prototype built specially for Knott's. Consider this simply a soft opening. Give it time before you nail its coffin shut.
  9. Oh. I always was under the impression that it was the ladder that made it stuck. At least that's what Raffi said in an interview once.
  10. Windseeker's problems were not Mondial's fault. CalOSHA required a ladder on the outside of the structure that interfered with it's operation. It's now at CW sans ladder and is operating just fine, as are every other windseeker ride. Back to Boomerang. I'm surprised that they are only working at night. I thought the whole point of closing Boom before summer was to get a jump on construction. You'd think they'd be making the most of it. Construction of the new attraction will be during the day, so why not the dismantling?
  11. So Knott's Network just posted Facebook photos of Boom showing that indeed a piece of track was removed from the cobra roll but we just couldn't see it because it's blocked from the webcam by the lift hills. I don't how to upload pics from my device so here's the FB link: boomerang photos curtosy of Knott's Network.
  12. Sol Spin is not a used ride. It is brand spanking new. Designed from the ground up as a permanent installation rather than portable. The one at Knott' s the first. A prototype if you will. It will have a breaking in period.
  13. The entire track, including the cobra roll, are still there. I just didn't see the catwalk or stairs. And are they not doing anything during the day? Just looked at webcam and looks dead over there.
  14. Can't see the top right corner of the cobra roll but the awning is definitely off the station and it kind looks like the stairs and catwalk on the roll is gone.
  15. I agree, that's why they are getting a jump on summer.
  16. Just curious, because I can't seem to find it online, how tall is Sky Cabin? Both to the top of the 'K' and to the max height the actual cabin goes. I ask because if it's over 200 feet then it would an awesome spot to put a dive coaster first turn around. People on the Sky Cabin could watch as the train goes around, stops then drops.
  17. I'm all for Knott's getting the first RMC Raptor coaster, however the trains would have to be a lot different than the concept video. The video shows 4-car trains with each car containing 2 people in single file seating, for a total capacity of 8 people per train. At a minimum, the trains would have to be 5-car trains with 2 rows of 2 across seating, for a total capacity of 20 people per train (similar to Lightning Run). My preference would be 6-car trains with a capacity of 24 people per train (the typical RMC train setup). The last thing Knott's needs is another low capacity coaster, so that would be my major concern with a Raptor coaster. Could be TRex track. They look the same, Raptor is just narrower.
  18. Wouldn't be surprised Knott's has a history of prototypes like Xcelerator and Pony Express.
  19. I think it's possible, but aesthetically that sounds like a terrible idea. I've got to be honest, I'm feeling like this is a dive coaster. It can easily achieve impressive heights and speeds in a small area, it would be a one-of-a-kind ride in the region, the chain just added one at Cedar Point and I think it makes a lot of sense for this park. I'm not going on anything other than a gut feeling, but I think this is a pretty likely option. What about the mention of 'drop' coaster by an employee? More likely that they mean dive coaster or that they actually know what they're talking about and they mean a section of drop track?
  20. How likely that it passes over the Midway and over Surfside Gliders and Scrambler, maybe Xcelerator even?
  21. Knott's lists the Mine Ride as a '3' out of 5. As for the employee who said 'drop' coaster maybe he means it will have drop track, not be a dive coaster.
  22. I think they rushed the opening for the last weekend Boysenberry Festival but it's not quite ready. I agree with the other poster that says they look like test runs.
  23. Looking at Jaguar in the background I was wondering if maybe removing half the train cars and thus making a shorter overall train might make it a slightly better ride. That thing is long.
